P990i touch screen not possible to calibrate

The top of the touch screen is ok, but in bottom of the screen is difficult to tip the buttoms, as it seems to be unaligned. I have tried to get to the calibrate screen, but it doesn't appear: the "setup wizard" finishes without the calibrate option. Any idea of how to activate the touch screen calibration? Regards, David

First, upgrade the software of the phone. After the upgrade, the setup wizard appears; complete it, and start it again from "Control panel", "Other", "setup wizard": now, just press the next button until 1 2 3 4 appears in the screen: don't select anything else, just the next button, or the calibration screen would not appear.

Need calibration on sony ericsson p990i

Recalibrating the screen is a rather simple matter on this phone.

Navigate to Control Panel\Other\Setup Wizard

Then, follow the on-screen prompts and you should be good to go.
If problems still persist, it may be possible that you are in need of a new LCD on the handset itself, which can be costly and difficult to install. Take the phone into a professional near you for an estimate.

Its saying calibration problem on the screen

When the Reader device is started for the first time or is reset back to factory settings, the screen must be calibrated. The Reader device will display a calibration screen that requires you to touch the stylus to the center of an "X" at several points on the screen. This is to make sure the touch screen properly recognizes input.
The process requires you to touch the "X" in the following locations on the screen:
  • Top left
  • Bottom right
  • Top right
  • Center
If the screen is accidentally touched someplace other than the center of the "X" during calibration, the Reader device will display a message stating Calibration error detected. Please restart calibration process .
If this happens, please start again in the top left corner and touch the stylus to the center of each "X" as it is displayed, being careful not to touch any other part of the screen. After the sequence is completed the Reader device will display Touch Panel calibration completed . Click OK to continue to the next step in the setup process.

P990i touch screen problem

I encountered the same problem but was able to fix it. Just don't know if it's just temporary. Go to tools, control panel, other, set up wizard, tap yes, tap the second button before cancel, keep on clicking to the right direction until the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 appears. Tap the center of each number until blinking stops, save settings. For the first few steps you may use the jog dial found on the left side of the phone if the touch screen does not follow your tappings.
