Question about RCA RP5012 Digital Voice Recorder
With the RCA RP 5012B digital recorder, is there a way to connect to a PC and download the sound files? I don't seem to have the right cable.
It is not possible to download the sound files in their digital forms with this model of recorder. The only way to transfer the recordings is to connect a male-to-male 3.5mm (1/8") plug from the recorder to the line input of the PC (as was formerly mentioned) and record it onto the PC in real time. I've done this with mine and it works fine...it just takes longer to do than tranferring the actual digital file to the PC. A good MP3 recorder for the PC is Audio Record Wizard. http://www.nowsmart.com/arwizard/
The full version costs $25, but I think it's worth it.

Go to Radio Shack and get a double male 3.5mm jack. It's not much, maybe $3. Make sure you have software that can record, though.
