Something wiped out the memory and the region code needs to be reset. I would suggest taking it into a shop that knows how to do this as I'm not sure that Yamaha wants the procedure sent out to the general public

That's what happened to mine after I set it up. I bet this problem is in all the units now that I see more than just me with the problem

SOURCE: Display is permanently "off" on the Yamaha RX-V620

Sounds like the LED that lights up the display has burnt out. An easy fix, if you're not afraid to take the front panel apart and resolder a new one.

Service Manual can aid you with the troubleshooting,

Audio Yamaha RX... - Electronics Repair

It is number 55 on the list.

Only with a fee.

Your unit , besides the standby transformer , there

is a much bigger transformer that supplies

voltages to the Amplifiers.

These amplifiers will not operate without the necessary

split supply ,

These power transformer will not have output voltages

if the primary windings are open.

( open meaning no internal resistance ).

If these transformer is not open,

Check for low voltage regulators that activates ( latch )

the relay that turns On your Power transformer.

If these are OK , three ( 3 ) things to check

a) check Micro

b ) check for cold solder joints

c ) check for possible shorted power Transistors

Yamaha Receiver won't turn on after USB plugin in. Help!

Unit is in protect mode. Sometimes an ipod draws too much current through the usb jack and causes the unit to shut down due to an abnormal voltage being detectected. Press and hold the 'info' and 'tone control' buttons and push power. This should turn the unit on. Turn it back off and turn it on again and should power up normally. If the ipod continues to make the unit shut down when plugged in, try and make sure it is fully charged before plugging it into the receiver - this may help.

"Internal error"

Have you had it repaired recently? Internal Error usually shows up when the digital board has been replaced and the new one has not been correctly set in the region code selection.

Yamaha RX-V375 turns off during periods of heavy subwoofer/base sounds. Sometimes it turns itself back on, other times not. Help!

most likely you're hitting the clipping or the threshold of the power.
the other possibilities is you have a small short there.
one way is unhook our speakers, tidy the cable u and hook it back to make sure there are no shorts.
if this does not solve the problem then you just might be hitting the limit of your receiver which the only way is to change receiver or your speakers to match them
