SOURCE: I bought a new 450 x chain saw this past march,

The owner's manual should disclose the adjustment detail. Set it so that the bar tip throws off a thin line of oil onto a piece of cardboard after a few moments of running at speed. Good luck!

The standar 450 does not have anadjustable oil pump, there is an optional adjutable pump if you wish to fit it.

Where is the adjustment for chain oiler?

depending on the saw it may or may not have one. most home owner saws are not available with an adjustable oiler. if however you are sure it has one it is accessed via the bottom of the saw on the clutch side

Bar & Chain combo interchange

A longer bar will allow you to cut larger trees easier but if you don't need to cut larger diameter trees and just want to cut faster you can get a more aggressive chain but use caution as you should be VERY experienced as the chain has the ability to pull you right into the work if you are not careful! Using a very aggressive chain should only be done by professionals with full safety gear.

How do you make the chain oiler spit out more oil? Its a husqvarna 450.

There is an oil-volume adjustment screw located near the chain return area either in back, or just under the case. Turn it CCW to increase volume. Hope this helps!

Husqvarna chain saw oiler problem

I fear you are correct about the oiler problem. I see a lot of oiler problems on these saws. Sooner or later Husky will have to address it. Ask the dealer about modifying your oiler; the 350 has an adjustable and might fit 1 or both of these saws. I think Husky needs to admit the nonadjustable is a mistake, and come up with a fix.

If you want to do some research start with the IPLs here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week
Please post back (below) with what happens at the dealer. Take your buddy and his saw with you! Good Luck. HTH

If Husky starts modifying all these with 350 oilers I want compensation...LOL

How to adjust chain bar oiler

The Stihl 026 PRO does have an adjustable oiler and it is located on the bottom of the saw just below the clutch drum.
Stihl also builds an 026 "Standard" without the adjustable oiler, however, the hole location for adjustment is still there.

The 026 PRO will also have a decompression valve on top of the saw to make the rope easier to pull during startup. If you have the DECO valve you should also have the adjustable oiler. Hope this helps.
