Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

1 Answer

Touch screen, and not charging

My ds lite has been dropped. The touch screen has been cracked and part of the touch screen is black now.  The touch screen still accepts input from all parts of the screen. I checked this out with picto chat and saw that even though i wrote on the black part of the touch screen it still took the input. How can I fix it? Do I need to replace the whole touch screen since its only the view that is effected?  What tools would be needed to replace the lcd touch screen?  How do I differentiate between original ds screens on ebay and ds lite screens on ebay?

My lite does not come on at all when I try to charge my battery, and of course the battery does not charge.  I know the battery is good (i exchanged the battery with a friends ds lite, his system allowed the battery to charge and when I put it back in my DS lite it could turn on.  Is it the female connector on the outside of my DSlite that is not working/broken? Or is it a fuse (I've read some other fixya respones) that is blown?

You should just replace it the screen is about75-85 $ and if you do happen to do that you would have to send it in you might as well goto gamestop eb games or game crazy and pick a used one up for about the same amount of cash

Unless you are comfortable of taking it apart yourself and ordering the part online.
I'd suggest going here.

Bottom touch screen has vertical lines all over it

This is a common problem amongst DS lites. It won't go away but it doesn't affect anything so just ignore it.

Best if you call Nintendo to fix it,though I think they might charge you money and I'm not really sure whats the amount.but its best to just call nintendo than to buy another one.

DS lite, power is on but nothing happens

Ditto... except my daughter is 10. Both screens remain black, are fully charged and green light stays on for more than 4 minutes.
