when it goes to the black screen give it a few seconds after the mouse shows up. Ctrl+Alt+Del and select task manager, then select the process tab. click on explorer, then right click on it and select end process from the pop up menu. once it has disappeared go back to the first tab programs. click new task, type explorer and hit enter. see where it gets you from there. if that doesnt help please recover your computer per manufacture instructions.

My i85 camera's lcd no longer displays what you are looking at. Just a black screen. All the menu items are there and working. The battery is charged. The power button is working as well as the lens open, but no image is available just a black screen. When I I try to take pic is showed very low light but doen't show image of pic taken when I check. I think you have two different issues here. The black screen may be due to a CCD failure. Canon has a worldwide service notice regarding this issue, and will repair your unit at no cost if they determine this is the problem (it sounds like it is).

The little red symbol indicates your backup battery (or date/time battery) CR1616 needs to be replaced. It is located behind a small square panel which you can see to the left of the menu buttons when you open the LCD panel.

You need to go into the menu function to turn the screen on (this feature saves the batterys)

Canon needs higher power batteries. You cant use Nippon of any other battereis that you use for clocks & other stuffs like torch..Buy a higher power battery....

TIP : Buy high power RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES. It cost you 200. Its must to buy a Battery charger. This combination will give you life long Battery.
