All that eans is that when you are charging the batteries you are unable to drive the chair. Its a safety feature to ensure that you won't accidently make the chair move with the charger plugged in. Just plug the charger into the charger port turn off the chair and then plug the charger into the wall charge overnight and in the morning unplug the charger from the wall and then from the joystick. Always have the charger off when plugging ang unplugging from the chair. With the M41 charger get a power strip with an on/off switch plug the charger into the strip and use the on/off switch to turn the charger on and off before you plug it into the chair Hope this helps you
Whenever you need to charge your power chair or scooter get into the habit of charging overnight. The battery level indicator lights will tell you if your chair or scooter needs charging. Whenever the lights are down into the yellow and especially if they are in the red. If you have the off-board charger, plug the charger into the charger port in the front of your joystick and then plug the charger into the wall socket or turn the on/off switch on and let it charge overnight. When you get up in the morning the charger should have a red light(power) and a green light illuminated (indicating fully charged) Always turn the charger off or unplug it from the wall socket before you unplug it from the chair or scooter. Never have the power on to the charger when you plug or unplug it from your chair or scooter. Whenever you get new batteries always give your batteries a full charge before use and then if you use the chair daily charge it every night. If you do not use your chair or scooter daily charge it at least once a week. Never leave the charger plugged in and on for more than 24 hours. Your batteries should last you 3-4 years if you charge them correctly.
Joe See my tips on charging batteries No you don't have to leave the chair on when charging. Charge overnite after using it during the day. Always have the charger off when plugging it into the chair and unplugging from the chair. The charger you have doesn't have an on/off switch so get a power strip with the on/off switch, plug that into the wall and plug your charger into the strip use the switch on the strip to turn the charger on and off this will save you having to plug and unplug the charger rom the wall. Always store or put the chair up fully charged. If you don't use the cair daily charge at least once a week. It takes 9-10 chargings to get the batteries operating at 100% so use the chair and charge overnight while you sleep Never leave the charger on the chair more than 12 hours Hope this helps you
amy why did you not keep the batteries charged? even new batteries have to be charged before use. Now plug in the charger and look at the meter with the charger plugged in the meter will show some reading around 4-5 amps. Let the charger work overnight when you get up in the morning fully charged the meter will read zero. Turn on the chair and all the battery lights should be lit. If after charging over night you are still getting one red light then you blew 170.00 and no amount of charging will bring them back. Sorry I wish I had better news. If you replace the batteries charge fully before use and then use the chair some each day and charge nightly for 20 days this will break in the batteries and get them operating at 100%. If you then only use the chair sometimes always put it up fully charged and charge at least once a week If you use the chair for that day charge overnight and it will be ready to use again when you need it. If you are going to leave the chair unattended for 6 months then fully charge the batteries and disconect them from the chair until you need it again New batteries every 6 months can get expensive Hope this helps you
Locate the two wires from the circuit breaker attach one wire (black if marked) to the negative post of the rear battery and attach the other wire (red if marked) to the positive post of the front battery. Locate the two wires coming from the power module plug with a red and black wire. Attach the red wire to the rear battery positive post and the black wire to the front battery negative post. attach the joystick to the nine pin plug at the rear of the chair and turn it on. You should have power at the joystick and the chair should work. Disconnect the joystick put the shroud cover back on grease the seat post and reattach the seat then plug in the joystick and charger plug at the rear of the chair. Charge the batteries before use and charge them overnite for the next 20 days. If you use the chair daily charge your batteries everynite while you sleep unplug in the morning. If you don't use the chair daily charge at least once per week or after you use the chair. Always put the chair up fully charged if you are going to be out of the chair for an extended time the disconnect the batteries at the large plug going to the power module Hope this helps you
there is a charger port located under the front of the joystick. Plug it in there then turn the charger on or plug into the wall socket charge overnite unplug from the wall and then unplug from the chair. If you use the chair daily charge it nitely when you go to bed. If used just a little charge once a week. Hope this helps
Lets solve this, one question at a time ....
First your batteries are not charging,This may be because of it siting for too long without a charge. The batteries may be so dead that your charger cannot reconize them. dontlosse hope there are ways to check your batteries and charger with out spending alot of money on a tech coming over.
1) Unplug and remove your batteries from the chair
2) Find your self a charge that trickle charge
(Note: If you have a batterie charger ,trickle charge is the lowest set charge)
3) Trickle charge each batterie to about 50%
4) Install batteries back on to chair
5) Plug in chair charger
The chairs charger should come on ,and that right there tells you that you have a good charger!
The batteries that came with this chair are not bad and are considered ok to use .These type of batteries are what you call maintenancebatteries ,which your always having to check if the leaking or need water. The gell type batteries are what they call non-maintenance.That you dont have to always look after but are more money.Thats why they recommend the gells so that the user doesn't have to work on there chair.
The chair should have a meter on the rear panel where the 9 pin connector for the joystick plugs into the chair when you plug in the charger cord the meter should move up and the lights on the joystick should flash indicating the charger is plugged in. When the chair is fully charged the meter should read zero or bounce up and down. Hope this helps
Eduardo After using your chair and the battery level lights are down with yellow or red lights showing just plug the chair into the wall socket and let er rip. Now really after using your chair during the day and you are ready for bed just plug in the charger and let it charge over night. In the morning unplug the charger and you should be set for the day. If you don't use the chair everyday always put it up with a full charge and about once a week plug it in and let it charge overnight. Never leave the chair plugged in all the time and never leave it for more that 24 hours. The charger has two lights on it one red and one yellow or green that are hard to see because they are under the rear cover. When the chair is fully charged the yellow light turns green and you can unplug the charger and you should have a full charge. Hope this helps you
Carefully read across two pins, without shorting to the case or other pins. You should have 1 hot, one ground, and usually another ground that acts as a charge inhibit to keep the scooter from driving while charging. I would expect to see around 27 Volts DCX on the output, maybe more without a load attached (battery)
