I keep erasing old bookmarks on my Treo and adding new bookmarks. When I hot sync the new bookmarks disappear and the old bookmarks come up on my phone. How can I adjust the setting on the sync manager so that the old deleted bookmarks do not come up again?

Honestly... your best bet would be to perform a hard reset... then sync with the computer again... To performa hard reset, hold the power button down and press the reset button under the battery door,... The phone will ask you if you want to 'Erase All Data?'... press UP on the navigation key or press the volume up key...
When it is done waking up and you have calibrated the screen and such, you can use activesync again to restore your old data.
Restart your Palm Treo 744p. Take out the battery from the phone for more than 3 min and put it back in. Switch on the phone and then try to Hot sync Again. Hopefully it will work. I am assuming that you installed the Palm Desktop software came with the phone on your computer I have same problem once in a while when i try to hotsync with new comp and this trick always worked for me.
Well, thank God I had done a recent Hot sync! I found out how to do a hard reset by holding down the power button while reinserting the battery then letting the button go and the system will ask if you want to erase all data? I put yes! Then it erases all my data and restarts the phone. I had to plug the phone in to be recharged because the looping ultimately drains the battery. Then, I plugged in the Hot sync cable and pushed the button to start the sync and ta da! back to its working state! Yippee! Do it! It's easy! Just make sure to hot sync often so your info stays current!
I think the computer overwrites the handheld. You could avoid this by following this steps: - right click hotsync icon on Windows system tray - choose "custom" - double-click the application you need to change - and change it to "handheld overwrites desktop"
