You need a PC-2 adapter that should have come with your PEAT-REPEAT-1 PP-1. If you already have the PC-2 adapter than you need to plug the mono jack with the 2 blue and 1 black wire into your computer or mp3 player which ever you are getting your sound byte from. Then you need to plug the other end of the jack that has 1 black 1 red and 1 blue wire into the PP-1 then you must turn the power to the radio on. The when you are ready que up your sound byte or what ever you want to record and when ready press the red record button and hold until the sound byte is finished playing then let go of the red button. DO NOT unplug the jack from the PP-1 until you unplug the radio from the power source or you will erase the sound byte. the PP-1 will only hold 20 seconds of recording! Also remember as soon as you plug the jack into the PP-1 it will automatically erase the original sound byte that is in the PP-1 Good luck!! what no directions with it ?To program sounds into it ,if I am not mistaken , there is a microphone that comes with it to pick up anything you want to record but I think it will cover up your last sound . I have never owned one or installed one but there should have been instructions with it .
buy a noise toy so as you don't mess up your radio installing one.A noise toy will just plug to the back of you radio and your mic should plug into it.You can buy them for about the same price as a board and when you get rid of the radio the noise toy can come with you but you have to leave the other one installed.
it ids used to set your voice to any noise toy you may have installed you can hear the way its set so now there is no need to bother anyone with a radio check
just buy a remote one that hooks to the antenna output and the antenna hooks to it. Save your radio. If you sold it and the person you sold it to didn't want a toy then you would have to remove it.this way you can remove the toy and use it on another radio,or sell it too.
Usually those "noise toys" are simple. Red is 13.8 power, but wire it to a switchable power so when ya turn the radio off....its off. Black is ground. White is wired to the audio pin on the mic. jack inside. Then tuck it in so its stable somewhere.
with this module, you need to have the proper wiring harness for the recording input, this is provided either by the radios microphone, or with the cable for computer support. Visit RatchetJaw.net for more information on how to record.
The symptom sounds like a bad Microphone connection or a bad microphone!! The Cobra has a built in circuit that wont allow you to hear anyone until the microphone is plugged in and the no transmit part will also do the same. Try another microphone that is wired right for that radio before you do anything else!! let me know!!
What you are getting is ignition noise from the engine of your car. Could be spark plug noise or alternator whine. If your radio has a ANL or NB switch, turn it on. If that does not fix it, you may have to get a filter for your powerline or change where you are getting power for the radio. Hope this helps, with the limited info available. Let me know,,,Mechanic
I'm not an expert but I am a daily operator. First check your ground connection, just because the radio turns on doesn't mean the ground is good enough. If this unit is mobile there are several things you can do to reduce the noise. First you need to find out if the noise is coming in thruogh the antena or the power supply; turn on your radio and vehicle, unhook the antena. If the noise goes away or is reduced you know that it is RF noise. this is interference from some outside source, powerlines, TV, just about any thing that uses electricity or electronics can cause noise. relocating the antena may help. Check you antena connections. Check your SWR. This is only a few of the things you can check.
