I use ZoneAlarm Firewall and Avast for Internet Security.
The combination works out very good.

Stop it, just download Ms Security Essentials!

When you use Internet Explorer, can you web-surf to *ANY* pages at all? If not, then your Internet connection is not working.

When your Internet connection is working,
use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall the software.
Restart your computer.
Re-install the software.

First of all you have to reinstall your OS and install your Kaspersky anti-virus software and do update.

Kaspersky tells you whether this is because at some point that was installed on the PC AVG8, but is unlikely to be removed either. I recommend you look for the installation of AVG8, install and then uninstall icon from the Add / Remove Programs control panel. This should eliminate all traces that may remain in the system of AVG.

After this reboot the PC and can install Kaspersky without any problem.
