Singer 1022 Sewing Machine. The thread keeps breaking on it.

Question edited for clarity.

I was built before cell phones or desktop computers! Older sewing machines are more reliable that the new fancy electronic ones.

Broken thread is usually caused by old rotten thread, cotton breaks down, or you may have a bad batch. Or it is caused by incorrect threading, or incorrect tension (upper or even bobbin tension). Or the machine needs cleaning, servicing and timing.

How do you thread a singer serger 14U46?

Most Singer manuals are available here: https://www.singer.com/support . Searching just for 14 gave two pages of manuals with the manual for the 14U46B and 14U46 on the second page. The current link to the manual is https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/fl_attachment/Singer-Website-Library/outdated_product/SINGER_14U46B_and_14U46_Serger_Overlock.pdf . The threading depends on your type of stitch. See page 9 for the steps common to all threading (raise the presser foot, change the thread tension). See page 11 (page 13 of the PDF) for the left looper path. The right and left needle threading is shown on page 12. If you are using a four-thread stitch, see page 15 for the right looper thread path.

I hope this helps. Check YouTube for videos on preparing a Singer serger. Those are often more useful than the manual's pictures.

I need a threading diagram for Singer 2010

Singer lists 2 machines with the 2010 model number here: https://www.singer.com/support . Do you have the Superb or the Touch Tronic? The manual for the Superb 2010 is currently here: https://www.singer.com/sites/default/files/product_manual/SINGER%202010%20SUPERB%20Sewing%20Machine%20_English.pdf (page 13, 18 of the PDF). The manual for the Touch Tronic is here: https://www.singer.com/sites/default/files/product_manual/SINGER%202010%20TOUCH%20TRONIC%20Sewing%20Machine.pdf (page 28, page 30 of the PDF). For both machines when threading the top thread, the take-up lever must be at the highest position and the presser foot should be up. Work from right to left from the thread spool with the appropriate spool holder in place. Put the thread through the upper guide or guide post. Then bring it around the thread guide and under the pre-tension spring (for the Superb) or under the flange and around the cylinder (for the Touch Tronic). Bring the thread down and into the tension disc. (On the Touch Tronic, keep the thread on the right side of the tension disc.) Bring the thread all the way down the right hand channel and then up the left channel. (On the Superb, you go around the check spring holder.) Bring the thread up to the take-up lever. On the Superb, bring the thread through the slotted eye in the lever. On the Touch Tronic, bring the thread to the back of the lever and then to the left of the take-up lever. Bring the thread into the slit by pulling the thread down and towards you. Run the thread down from the take-up lever and into the thread guide above the needle. On the Superb, there are two thread guides. Get the thread into both the horizontal guide and the one just above the needle. On the Touch Tronic, getting the thread into the thread guide takes holding your left finger at the bottom of the left channel. Then guide the thread into the thread guide from the right. Thread the eye of the needle from front to back. Make sure the slot in the needle is facing forward.

I hope this helps. See the appropriate manual for the bobbin threading. Other threading diagrams may be available on line but choosing the correct one depends on the machine.

How to thread the singer 20u33? The tension assembly is new, don't know where the wire is sposed to be...

When you thread the top thread, the thread will drop down on the right side of the tension mechanism and go around the bottom (clockwise) and up the left side. Grab the thread somewhere above the tension mechanism with your right hand and then pull the toward the right (as though you are going to close the circle around the tension disk. The thread should pull on the metal wire (spring) and your thread should pop into the correct position of the tension disk. When you release the thread, the wire spring should pop back to the left. Then you will continue threading through the remaining thread guides and the take-up lever.

Here's a service manual for your machine (in case you need one):

I am after a manual for my Singer 1832U machine. I am having problems with looper threads snapping

Singer 1832U Manuals

Usually, breaking threads are a result of misthreading. Remove all the threads from the machine. AVOID old or bargain bin threads! ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning--make sure each thread is threaded in the proper order.

How do I thread a Singer Athena 2000?

The user's manual for the Singer Athena 2000 is a free download from the Singer Sewing Machine site. It will show you how to thread your machine properly. A heads-up, though--the presser foot MUST be UP when you thread ANY machine from ANY manufacturer, going back at least a century!
