SOURCE: Washing machine won't stop filling with water

Sounds like a faulty or sticking water level switch.
Could be a blockage in the pressure chamber to the switch.
Remove the hose to the pressure switch and see if it is clear by blowing down it, you should hear air or bubbles at the other end, if not then it is blocked..
If clear then check switch.

Your Fill valve Solenoid has failed.
Some machines have an all-in-one type fill valve
(hot and cold on the same valve - but different solenoids)
some have seperate bodies for the hot and cold.

hotpoint wma turn off the power and you are looking for the presure w
switch and chamber , the switch is at the back of the soap draw by the valves on the left hand side there should be a hose going into it take it off and blow through it if nothing happens pull the machine out and at the bottom of the back there is a white plastic cover take it off look for the sump hose and on the side of it there is a whit plastic tube this is the presure chamber clean it out might be blocked

You probably have a stuck fill valve. This is the part where the hot and cold water hoses connect. Just to be sure unplug the machine and if it still fills Remove and replace the fill valve assembly. Don't forget to unplug the machine and turn off both the hot and cold water supply valves. This is a rather simple repair.

Washing machine does NOT stop filling w/ water!

If the m/c keeps filling, where is the water going ??? if the m/c doesnt reach the required water level it will not start, check the drain hose at the back, make sure its at least 24" above floor level, if it lower then it will just empty as quick as you fill it on gravity.
