Whenever I start up my Compaq laptop and Windows XP loads, Windows Installer keeps trying to install Roxio Media Manager. I have removed every scrap of anything related to Roxio, restored to an earlier date, tried to remove BlackBerry desktop software in Safe Mode, among other things. Yet this still repeatedly occures and prevents me from installing any new software and to delete any software. I need help!
The Roxio Media Manager is belong to the system, and this part the program is in need to run part of the system...
How can anyone possibly believe the response above answers the question or helps to resolve the problem? "Solution 1" above is no more a solution than "Buy a new PC and don't ever install a Roxio product."
The only way to avoid this is to uninstall Roxio and remove every shred of the program you can find on the system. Then reinstall Roxio. Roxio has to be the LAST program installed if you are installing software. It is incompatible with a fair number of other programs, especially those that have anything to do with video, such as TV tuners, video editing, etc.
When it works Roxio is okay, but it is bug-filled.
