2001 Isuzu Rodeo not starting!

Question edited for clarity to what I think you thought you meant to say :>)

Whomever 'he' is, the one that hooked up the battery the wrong way, will have done all sorts of damage to the electronic modules and in particular the Engine Control Module (none start) and the Body Control Module (wipers). Your car ideally needs 13.2 volts to start. You need an auto electrician with a $5,000 scan tool computer to diagnose the electrical damage and fix. Get the fuel gauge fixed at the same time.

How do you remove the positive battery cable? 1998 Isuzu Rodeo

The first thing to do is to remove the negative cable before the positive cable to prevent any shock and sparks. Battery cables have a nut and bolt keeping the lead made connector snug to the terminal of the battery. After loosening the nut you will need a pair of channel lock pliers to wiggle the battery cables end attached to the battery This will spread the connector open some to remove

Underhood fuse block swap out relay #7 thats the ECM relay.
Ground Circuits Using a DVOM, touch negative voltmeter lead to a good ground. Touch positive voltmeter lead to each ground terminal. With vehicle running, voltmeter should indicate less than one volt. If reading is greater than one volt, check for open, corrosion and loose connection on ground lead. See ECM GROUND LOCATION table for ECM ground location.

I put the battery in wrong and blew a fuse

There will be a fuse under your hood and one inside the car. The one inside the car can be either under the dash (drivers or passengers), side of the dash where the door meets the dash (drivers or passengers), kick panel by door (drivers or passengers), main console (drivers or passengers)

My 1999 Isuzu Rodeo died while I was driving -- bad main fuse....

Yes...have it checked out. With the belt removed, if it is rough when turned by hand you have found the problem.

Replaced starter when battery was connected it started sparking and smoking.

Sounds like he may have pinched a wire or hooked it up backwards or has the power wire touching the starter housing.
