in the usa it will be entered as 12/08/2015 where as in other countries it will be 08/12/2015
however to confuse the issue some companies use the 12-08-2015 or the 08-12-2015 format
the dates are an example only so remember it is not 8/9/2105 but 08/09/2015 format
even though you are entering the correct information , it has to fit one of the example formats to work
To reformat the NWZ-S545 Walkman follow these steps found on page 92 of the operation guide:
Formatting memory [Format] You can format the built-in flash memory of the player.
If the memory is formatted, all data (songs, videos, photos, etc., including sample data installed at the factory) will be erased. Be sure to verify the data stored in memory prior to formatting, and export any important data to the hard disk of your computer.
Be sure not to initialize (format) the built-in flash memory of the player using Windows Explorer. If you have formatted with Windows Explorer, format again using the player.
This function is only available in the pause mode.
From the [Home] menu, select [Settings] / [Common Settings] / [Format]. [All data including songs will be deleted. Proceed?] appears.
Select [Yes]. [All data will be deleted. Proceed?] appears. To cancel the operation, select [No].
Select [Yes]. When initialization finishes, [Memory formatted.] appears. To cancel the operation, select [No].
Format error are often shown if the file stored on your Sony NW-E505 is not recognized by the system. Try to review the supported audio formats of your player, use audio (format) converter for better compatibility.
What you will neeed to do is to format the player using the player itself..After you done formatting it the computer should recognize it...To format go under menu, setting and there should be a format option there..keep in mind that formatting the player will delete all the data on the player..If after you formatted the device the computer doesnt recognize it still you will need to uninstall the device from the computer and reinstall it back...I hope that helps
