SOURCE: after i cleaned the filter, shop vac doesn't turn back on

IT SOUND LIKE THE MOTOR WENT BAD OR IN SIDE THE PANLE A WIRE CAME LOSE

You **** up water the same way as dirt. It's designed this way, hence the name wet/dry. Just be sure not to get the water in the very top of the unit where the motor sucks the air for cooling ventilation, if water gets in there it can burn up the motor. A little hard way, personal experience, speaking there.

I have a Craftsman brand shop vac [model # 113.77420]. It is still picking items when I sweep with it, but it has developed a very high pitched squealing sound whenever I turn it on. The sound makes it...

I have the same problem with a CTC Shop Vac. It's he bearings ... they're worn out and dry ... no lubrication. I've trid taking the motor apart and lubricating the bearings, then it runs super for a few uses but then the squealing starts again. Oitch it and buy a new one.

On the back of the shop vac there's a hole...what is supposed to go in there...i turn it on and dust blows out of it like crazy

should have a exhaust filter in the hole. it is round and 5-6 inches long with a type of filter on the end.

Shop Vac was working fine last time I used it. Now I try to turn it on and nothing. I have cleaned the terminals on the toggle switch. I know there is power to the switch

try tapping the motor area with a piece of wood or something, damp usage may have seized it up a bit

Craftsman shop vac no power when turn on

I just picked up a similar model someone was throwing away. turns out there is a thermal fuse inside the motor housing that blew. I just need to find the values of the fuse and repalce with appropriate size. motor runs when fuse is bypassed.
