There are two possibilities. First, rechargeable batteries do not last forever. Take out your rechargeable batteries and replace them with non-rechargeable ones for test purposes. If your camera works ok, it may be that the camera's charger circuit has gone bad. Try charging your batteries on an external charger. If they charge, it is your camera's charger, if they do not hold a charge, it is probably time for new rechargeable batteries.
A blinking green light means the charger is charging the battery. A steady green light (same LED) means that charging is complete. If the light never stops blinking and we assume that your charger is working correctly, you may have a defective battery. Rechargeable batteries do not last forever. After a few years, there ability to take and hold a charge declines. It may be time to buy a new battery.
Batteries don't last forever. Change the battery. If the charging voltage is as described then your battery is not holding a charge. The only other thing it could be is a bad earth lead. But this is not likely.
It sounds like your battery has died. The batteries don't last forever and they eventually start to hold less and less charge. Did you notice the battery starting to last a shorter and shorter time? You probably need a new one.
it probably has a Li-ion battery and they start loosing the ability to hold a charge just as soon as they are manufactured. If your Garmin sat on a store's shelf for a year, it had already lost about a third of its ability. Li-ion batterys last about 3 years.
Rechargeable batteries don't last forever, unfortunately. Lithium ones in particular can have their life shortened if you allow them to discharge completely. This camera uses np-60 (Fuji type) batteries. I recently bought a couple of these off Amazon (Polaroid branded!) for less than one pound ($2) each, so there's your solution!
Hi. Most likely this kind of problems occurs when the battery is exhausted after a long time of using it. because even intergrated (rechargeable) Batteries Wont Last forever. the chemical substances(lithium-ion) in it Drains after a period of charging/discharging(using the device).
Solution:
if you have a common Mp3 player, You can purchase a new fresh battery and replace it. its quick and easy.
i can instruct you if you want so. First check ebay for the exact same battery that you have inside you Mp3 Player.
The most logical explanation for a battery no longer charging is...age. Rechargeable batteries do not last 'forever'. Somewhere between 3-6 years old and they will lose the ability to hold a charge. Time to buy a new battery.
