My Kodak Easyshare C703 won't format

What size is your SDXC Card? The maximum supported it 2 Gb. It can't handle more than that and won't format.

The C703 works with SD and MMC cards, 2GB and smaller. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards such as your 4GB card.

Your 4G card is probably an SDHC card which won't work in your camera. It only takes SD cards.

Hi, The reason neither 4GB card will format is because that camera is only able to support, at most, a 2GB card. I'd suggest returning the 4GB card and getting another 2GB one.

You don't. The C703 works with MMC and SD cards, not SDHC cards.

The I would have to say bad card. Do you have another to try?

This problem is frequently due to corroded battery terminals inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the terminals with a soft cloth (heavy corrosion may require a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue left in the camera by the cleaning. I was told by a Kodak tech that the cameras are identical. The different numbers were a marketing thing.
