The knob on our crock pot lid is broken. How do I get a new one?

My knob broke off my rival crockpot as well. I have hunted high and low but it doesn't seem like there is a replacement out there. I have e-mailed rival.com...no use.

First time I used the slow-cooker, as I was washing up after the dinner - handle on the lid just broke off in my hand.

The handle on Marbeck isn't the same one that came with this pot. Mine came with a handle -not a knob.

I HAD the problem with the handle snapping off the lid of my oval 6qt lid - until I spent 10 minutes and $2 in the cabinet hardware section of Home Depot. Now I have a stylish silver & white handle on my crock pot lid. The bolt and grommet were re-used, several little tiny o-rings were added as spacers, along with a drop of Loc-tite.

Just buy a porcelain knob at the hardware store. It is heat resistant and washable. Use the rubber gasket from the original knob and the screw from the new knob.

One challenge, the screw on the new knob will probably be too long and will have to be shortened to accommodate the thinner glass lid.

Over the years, I have done this fix to 3 crock pots. Works like a charm.

Good luck.

Marbeck has lowered their price - 2 knobs plus shipping are now under $7. Still might try the hardware store route. By the way, forget about the recall mentioned above. That is strictly replacing the base on those units. They clearly tell you on the link above to KEEP your current stoneware insert and lid. They are repalcing the base only.

Some models of Rival crockpots were included in a safety recall due to handles that break. You might want to check www.rivalrecall.com and see if your model and vintage is included.

Looking for replacement knob for my red Rival slow cooker

My knob melted off my crock pot... I was left with a screw and a nut.
I replaced my knob with a knob from another glass cover from a sause pan... works great. (and it's a nicer handle).
you can get a cheep pan with a glass cover from a dollar store or thrift shop.

Handle on crockpot lid broke off.can I replace it at store where purchased?

I have had the same problem. Spoke to rival customer service and they no longer sell replacement lids for model number SCE502. I've read to take the screw from the knob to a hardware store and then find a knob which will fit it.
Someone else suggested that if the knob is mostly intact, ask hardware store for araldite glue
