How do i increase the screen brightness HP elitebook 8530p

Sounds like your keybinding/hotkey combo is not doing its job. (or your bulb in the display is going out)

You can open up Control Panel and adjust brightness from there.

Step 1 Click "Start ' Control Panel ' Hardware and Sound ' Power Options" to open the Power Options window.
Step 2 Click and drag the bottom "Screen Brightness" slider to the right to increase screen brightness and to the left to decrease it. Making this adjustment changes the brightness level only for the current power source; if you change power sources, the screen brightness may change again.
Step 3 Click "Change Plan Settings" on whichever power plan is currently selected.
Step 4 Click and drag the "Adjust Plan Brightness" slider to the right to increase brightness for each of the power sources, such as "On Battery" or "Plugged In." If you want high-precision numeric control, you need to access the advanced settings.
Step 5 Click "Change Advanced Power Settings."
Step 6 Click "+" next to "Display" and then "Display Brightness" to expand these options.
Step 7 Click "On Battery" and enter a percentage in the field provided. Choosing "100" will set the screen to maximum brightness; any other brightness will be a percentage of the maximum brightness. To increase the brightness, make sure the number you enter is higher than the current value.
Step 8 Click "Plugged In" and set its brightness percentage.
Step 9 Click "Apply" and then "OK" to close the Advanced Settings window.
Step 10 Click "Save Changes" to save any changes you made on the Edit Plan Settings page. If you only make changes in the Advanced Settings page, the Save Changes button will be grayed out. If that's the case, just click "Cancel."

Hope this helps!

HOW TO INCREASE DARKNESS IN HP 4300

1. If you are printing using postscript driver, try using PCL6 - printout would be darker for grey scaled items.

2. Print in lower resolution 600dpi or 300dpi, printouts would be darker.

3. Try printing all characters as black

You can adjust darkness at the printer using the console menu.
In the Configuration Menu ' Print Quality sub Menu , there is a parameter called Tonor Density. Factory Default is 3. Set to 4 or 5 to increase darkness..

Hello
Panasonic TV's after 1996 can be set to "Serviceman Mode" with the
following remote control sequence:

-select the SET-UP icon and select CABLE mode.
-select the TIMER icon and set the SLEEP timer for 30 minutes.
-press the ACTION button twice to get out of the menus.
-change to channel 124.
-adjust the volume to minimum (0).
-Hit the VOL down button on the TV itself (not on
the remote) and a red "CHK" should appear in the upper corner.
-press the ACTION and VOLUME DOWN buttons (again, on the
TV, not the remote) you will toggle between AGING and SERVICEMAN modes.

Select Serviceman mode. The POWER button on the remote control will
select one of the five Serviceman Adjustment modes.

The modes are:

B - Serviceman VCJ SUB Adjustments. These include sub-tint,
sub-color, sub-brightness, sub-contrast, colorkiller/ABL/gamma,
audio and video adjustment, and vertical size.

C - Serviceman VCJ Cut-off adjustments. These include Red, Green
and Blue cut-off, red and blue drive, automatic fine tuning
(AFT), RF AGC (RF gain control), horizontal center, beam limit,
etc.

S - Serviceman Options Adjustments. These involce the PIP and
clock.

M - Serviceman MTS (Stereo/SAP) adjustments.

CHK - the mode you first entered. Normal picture and sound, lets
you check things over and still have a hotkey into the
service menu.

There is one more adjustment that isn't in the five modes, it's
global. When in either the yellow or red CHK mode, you can press
RECALL on the remote control to enter the purity field check mode.
This lets you select a pure white, red, green, or blue screen. A
good thing to walk away from if you just want to temporarily freak
out the floor manager, but it will be fixed as soon as the TV is
turned off. Oh well.

To get out of Serviceman mode, press ACTION and POWER on the
receiver simultaneously for at least 2 seconds. The TV will momentarily
shut off and then comes back on.

Help :) My PANHDTV-53WX42F color went dark and I can not seem to get it lighter by using the menu options, also tried the convergence adjustments,, should I call a service tech or buy a new tv ??? Thanks !

I have determined that it is my green bulb that is bad, because it also controls a lot of the black/white picures, thus that I believe it is out this is causing the darkness. I went through all of the convergences through set up and altered/adjusted all the options in picture, not much changed other than the brightness of the pictures which at least makes it somewhat watchable. Have called a tech to replace bulb. Will let you know if it is anything else, but I must say for a "girl" I am getting very good at assessing a lot of mechanical issues :)

If this does not help you will most likely need to get the service manual as you should always have that anyway before ever attempting any serve mode adustments. Also do not forget to ALWAYS write down all of the values that you change incase a problem arises. Good Luck
