LG WM2496H is rubbing or hitting something in the tub on high spin cpart of cycle. Tried replacing the large magnetic wheel connected to tub shaft but it is still happening. Could this be a serious tub problem? If i hold the tub and push back slightly during the spin cycle it is ok. but when I let go, it rubs on something and stops spinning.

Bad bearings or something stuck between the tub and drum.

SOURCE: LG WM0642HW washer gives error during spin cycle and stops.

I have this problem and you can find the solution on this same web page by searching. It is likely the Hall Sensor that needs to be replaced (see proflevy posting on Jul 16, 2008). According to the postings, it is from soap build up on the sensor and replacing it costs $18 for the part and is easy (many responses on this). I am waiting for the part and will try to fix mine soon.

SOURCE: 1 1/2 year old lg WM2496H showed oe error code

The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.

LG themselves have some information on this error code..

SOURCE: I have an lg wm2032hw

If can be the tub is rubbing against the suspension springs to produce the rubbing noise.
Now as you have confiremd that the noise is from a rubbing and that the bearings , impellers were checked, the correct fault can be found only with assistance. You might need a volunteer to turn the tub manually as you check. Now disconnect the motor and check, if noise still remains bring it to the point of noise and reverse. Does the sound return,
Looking behind the drum you can find some stray wire or detached spring of the suspension touching but I would like you to use a good power light to probe listening to the noise to arrive at the fault.
Tip: If you can have a flexible tube use it to hear the noise as a probe with one end to the ear and the other as the probe.

SOURCE: Tub is rubbing with a burning smell

As this has a direct drive motor it is not a good sign, it's most likely that the bearing/seal has failed and allowed water to get onto the stator of the motor.

Why does my washer (maytag mah5500bww front loader) make noise during the wash/rinse cycles but not during the spin.?

The noise could be from a loose wire harness, plastic purse-lock wire harness retainer on the upper hose hitting the top cover ir a plastic injector mold standoff on the outer tub bearing housing, also a flat spot in the belt could cause a tapping noise. Something between the outer tub and wash basket. I have had to remove items lodged in the drain tube between the pump and tub, like bra under wires. Sometimes you can squeeze the tube and feel objects the ate lodged. I always take the tube off the tub side and run my finger all the way down to the pump impeller to make sure. I also check the I can spin the impeller and the nothing is in the pump. Hard to say with out being there. Where do you think the noise is coming from top , bottom , left , or right side?

Pump or bearing problem?

If this is a top load maytag, the pump bearing sleeve will rub the pump pulley and make a grinding noise. Replace the pump.

Removing the Drum from an LG WM1832CW Front Load Washer

Well, I assume you have removed the bolt that holds the motor to the tub shaft. After you remove all the motor system then you would only have the tub's hub shaft out of the back of the outer tub thru the bearings and bearing seal. It should easily slide out. If not, I would support the outer tub half on two saw horses or equivalent and hit shaft as hard as you can with a rubber mallet. Remember to have a system to catch the inner tub when it falls out.

Loud noise during washing/rinsing cycles

I just replaced the bearings on my Front loader Maytag MAH5500B, as it sounded like a freight train during the spin cycle. The bearing replacement fixed the train problem.

NEW PROBLEM NOW: It's been about a month now since the bearing job and now something is clicking/binding when you spin the back belt wheel. I have taken the belt off and carefully move the wheel and I still get this clicking noise. It sounds as if someone is hitting the plastic drum that the tub is surrounded by. I really doubt it's the bearings this soon, as the sound is not the same! No leaks or metal shavings to speak of or rubbing of the belt wheel.

Seems like it's more noticeable during the wash/rinse cycles then the spin.

Can anyone help.???

yea youl need to replace the tub alright, cgances are the bolts holding the inner tub to the transmission shaft have also broken off, which is why the inner tub spun off kilter and rubbed a hole in the outer tub,. the bolts (2 of them ) woulds have benn locking the inner basket to the tranny shaft, visible after removing the agitator

Everything works with the washer except the spin cycle. Its like the brake is locked. All the belts are good. What is causing the spin cycle not to spin? I have tried running the spin cycle and turning the...

try tipping unit over, theres a large pulley under there connected to transmission, grab hold and spin that both ways. one way free spins, the other way pushes up on the center shaft to release brake and start spin.you can replace the thrust bearing yourself( kit includes new pulley ,and cam w/ new spacers) a brake issue would need to be done by pro. you need special brake tools.

Lg Front loading washing machine

most times on the Lg washer the lint trap is clogged and something may be hitting the impeller on the pump and causing it not to drain. remove the plastic cover on the lower left bottom and unscrew the black lint filter at the pump. you will get water on the floor there is no way to avoid that. clean the trap and make sure there is nothing inside the housing to block the pump impeller. replace the trap and run a rince cycle to check for proper draining.
