IN THE RETURN AIR GRILL EITHER IN FLOOR OR IN THE WALL / SOME ARE INSTALLED IN THE UNIT IN THE AIR HANDLER COULD BE INSIDE A CLOSET OR ATTIC OR UNDER FLOOR / FIND AND CHANGE IT . IT WILL BE WHERE THE AIR IS PULLED INTO UNIT ON RETURN SIDE AS I SAID SOME IN FLOOR GRILLS , SOME IN WALL GRILLS . SOME IN CEILING GRILLS . JUST TAKE OUT AND GOTO LOWES OR hd GET SAME SIZE AND REPLACE

There may not be one. Most filter messages on a thermostat go by accumilated run time. They are just a reminder and the thermostat message has to be reset. If its there it would be at the unit inlet were the return plenum connects to the unit. They dont usually have both if you have filters in the return grills you dont need them at the unit.

Just measure the length , width, and thickness of the filter housing then match it at any home or hardware store such as Home Depot or Lowes.

I assume the filter goes in at the bottom of the air handler. Carrier, in their infinite wisdom, uses the oddest sizes of any units. Use a tape measure and measure the depth and width of the opening.
It may be something like 19-5/8x21. You can't buy these off the shelf at home supply stores.
You will have to find a heating and air supply store to get them.
