Black screen with a flicker`

I have a similar problem with an LG 1917S monitor, the green light remains on and i can see the bios menu from the computer, but only for a split second when it is firt turned on.

I have swapped out with a couple of different graphics cards, as mentioned before i cannot access the menu (this should still work even without a signal from a computer) so i am assuming something in the monitor has died.

My question si, is it worth being fixed, or should i just get another one.

Hello,

I sounds like you have a power supply that is going out. If you are able to open the unit and feel comfortable enough to solder parts I may be able to talk you thru a repair. May type of monitors have issues with power supply capacitors going bad and causing the exact problem you describe. The unit will power up for 1-3 seconds and then no display, sometimes the power light will stay on sometimes it will just blink on and off. If you want to try the repair email me at [email protected] and I will help you, we also have a repair service and can do the repair for you if you are interested. I hope this helps.

My flatron L1710S flat screen will not come out of power saving mode. When I turn on the monitor the power button/light is green for a few seconds, the screen indicated "power saving mode", then...

I switch on my PC, ensuring that all cables, leads and power supplies are connected properly. The tower powers up no problems at all. I switch the screen on, the green led lights up, the screen is completely black. A blue box appears centrally on the screen with the text 'power saving mode'. The green led light turns amber and then the screen just goes black.

Please don't suggest going to control panel, as I can't get that far.

PLEASE PLEASE CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ANYTHING give me

hi

what you are experiencing is that your screen bulb is burnt.the screen bulb is what lights up your screen, its just like a fluorescent tube, when it is burnt it flickers for a while and it later goes off.. the only solution is to change the screen bulb as soon as you can

goodluck with that!

Green light flickering & Sunset red screen display.

You've got components that have gone bad, probably from age and the normal heat inside a CRT monitor case.

I hate to say it, but it's really not worth fixing. You can usually find a used but working 17" monitor for under 20 bucks.

LG1719S blank screen but with a flicker

Its a problem with the lcd and the cost to replace the screen is more then the cost of getting a new monitor.

173v flat lcd black screen

I've had a similar problem with my 173v monitor since I bought it a few years ago. When I start my computer, Mac or PC (I've connected it to both), the screen remains black and the green power light flickers once a second, almost like it's twitching - it's different from the blink it makes when the computer isn't turned on but the monitor is. Like kronem, I have to unplug the line from the monitor to the computer, wait for the monitor to register no input, and then plug the monitor in again before it displays anything. I've never figured out a way around the problem - I hate it!

MONITER LIGHT IS GREEN BUT ONLY SHOWS A NORMAL SCREEN FOR 1/2 SECOND THEN TURNS BLACK

HI. I had the same problem with mine. It would flash the screen on for a split second and then turn black, the whole time the power light remained green. Upon opening up the case, I pulled the combo power supply board/inverter board out for inspection. I noticed one of the capacitors had a bulge on top indicating it was bad. It was the the 680uf 25v capacitor. I desoldered it, and soldered in the new one. After hooking everything back up, bingo!! Monitor now works perfectly. I couldn't find an exact match to the capacitance locally, but I had a 1000uf 35v cap in my utility box. It worked fine as a replacement. You can usually go within 30 percent of tolerance and be alright. Just don't go under on capacitance or voltage. I hope this helps.
