I have a Venturer PVS7970 it will come on but it wont spin

hello this is a very common problem with dvd players ,you will need to replace the lens it would not be cost affective to have the repair done cheaper to buy a new one goodluck

It may be that the lens is dirty so it can't read. Try inserting a CD or DVD cleaning disk (like a normal disk but has a little brush attached)
If you are trying to use home recorded disks check that they are in a suitable format - some players require only R- format whilst others will only R+

kungfuz...I have had two of these emerson cd players. One is in my home and is still working after 3 1/2 years. The other was purchased for our church just over a year ago and it has stopped working. The disks will turn a little then stop. Occasionally it will still play a complete hymn but this is rare. Also a grinding sound can be heard with the ear close to the unit. I think when you pushed the combo of buttons and it stopped working, this is likely just a fluke and it was probably going bad anyway. I may be wrong but I have been down this road myself and your problem sounds very similar to mine. I can't offer you much encouragement...sorry...!

i have a venturer 5 cd stero system when i plugs it in and pushes play the songs are muffled,what could be wrong

i had the same problem. there is a switch that gets pushed down and there is something sticking on the back of the screen. i put layers of tape on it to build it up to push it down further to fix it. can also try to stick something where the switch is but you will need to turn it off to switch discs. if you really know what you are doing you can try and take it apart and try and fix it right.

MOST LIKELY IT SOUNDS LIKE THE MOTOR THAT SPINS THE DISC - NEEDS REPLACING
