Hi Sharon:

There's a lot of wires inside your computer chasis, but this link should help you figure out where everything goes. It has a free Adobe file for you to view. Most of the smaller wires are labelled, and the larger plugs will typically only attach to their ports one way. Good luck!

I have a 2005 Dodge Magnum with the dash lights showing ESP/ BAS. When this lights up, the car loses power and cannot go anywhere. How to fix this problem? I read online that cleaning the connections to...

It's not the pcm you would clean but the 2 or 3 electrical connectors to the pcm. First take the battery negative terminal off so the battery is not connected. (Even with the key off, there is electricity going to the pcm-this is why you need to disconnect the battery.)
Now you can safely pull off the connectors to the pcm. Buy a spray can of CRC brand electronic cleaner-very inexpensive- and spray inside the connectors and again on the plugs on the pcm that the connectors plug into. This is a fast drying electrical contact cleaner, dries in about 5-10 minutes. Now plug the connectors back onto the pcm, hook up the battery, and see if the cleaning did any good. If there was any corrosion on the electrical pins, this will solve that.

Hi I've got a zafira vxr and the fault code is 1234358 can anyone tell me what this is please??

fuel pump fault. it could be the relay in the engine bay or the ground wire for the motor. relay is in the engine bay fuse box there is 2 one for the pump and one for the injectors they are both the same color, it could also be the plug connection on the top of the tank is lose on the power to the pump, in the boot lift up the carpet and you will find a plate screwed down this is to assess the top of the tank to the fuel pump and sender unit for fuel gauge, remove the plug and give the connection a good clean check the seal for the plug is good, the pumps should last a good 10-15 years. relays that depends on how may starts you do to get engine running etc. can last up wards of 10 years but a faulty one will arc inside and not give a good voltage to the pump and throw up a code. ground wire is the same but its under the battery plate you will find a few together you will need to remove the battery lead to do this work and remove the wires and give them a good clean so they are back to copper colour. also you will need the code for the radio when you put the negative lead back on the battery. if you don't have the code dont remove and clean until you have the code as the radio/cd deck. will not work. hope this help you

The left one has no audio.

If you have to pay someone to fix them, it would probably be cheaper to buy a new one.

You have little to lose trying to fix them yourself, but you will need at least a multimeter and a soldering iron.

The cable is what generally gets damaged often near the plug or the headphones.
See if you can find where the damage is.
One method is to open up the headphones and see if you have connections back to the plug from inside. Start with the one that is not working.
If you can't get a connection to the plug, go down the cable, looking for damage.
If you get to the plug, cut it off and strip the ends of the wires, and try to get a connection back to the headphones., and if so, fit a new plug.
Don't forget to put the wire trough the plug cover before you start soldering.

My Pioneer PL-990 Turntable only outputs sound through the white wire. Only a quiet buzz comes through the red wire.

The red wire is the right channel, so going back to your amp, get a single phono plug with with the wire exposed, so you can touch the wire. Then remove the turntable connections. With the amp on plug the the lose wire plug into each channel and check if the sound on the right is still low. If it is then there's a problem with the magnetic cartridge pre-amp inside the amp. They are often located near the phono socket on a seperate PC board, but if not just follow the red wire to the main board. Chances are it will be an IC that's failed.
If it has a strong buzz at the back of the amp. Then I should replace the wire between the turntable and the amp. Or the right phono plug that connects to the amp.

2001 Jaguar radio cuts out when I go over a bump. Then goes back on when it feels like it. Its been in the shop they can not find out whats wrong. Can someone help. Thanks

Hello, my name is Ben. Everyone seems to be looking at the wiring going to the radio. I believe your problem is the actual radio. You have something loose inside the radio. I think you are probably going to need a new radio to solve this problem.

Headphone jack issues

Although headphones jacks are convient. They are very delicate as well. It take very little pressure agaist the jack when plugged in to bend the pins inside the jack that makes the connection. Then they get temermental. Generally the only recourse is to replace the headphonejack in the unit. better left to the techs. replacing can be tricky. But just to make sure you say you have tried other units. Here is something that works once in a great while. Unplug the unit dip the headphone jack {the tip on the headphones} in rubbing alchol insert it in the jack on the unit and spin it repeat several times let alchol evaporate then stick jack back in unit an spin again. Plug unit back in and see if it is better or the same.
