SOURCE: How do i connect a xbox 360 to a philips hts 3555 and hd tv?

Connect audio out cables (L and R) from HDTV to far left audio input at back of hts 3555. Then connect HDMI output from XBOX360 to HDMI input slot on TV. Setup XBOX 360 for audio through HDMI turn TV off and then on and all should be good. It worked for me.

SOURCE: IM tryin to hook up

What you really need is the audio from the cable box to come in directly to the MRD. Ponder this: why do you need the Cable Box audio to richochet off the TV first? Does it ADD anything?

The BEST audio from any source should go to the MRD first. The best Video should go to the TV first.

I have a Sony bluray surround sound and lg smart tv, I can't play my Apple TV sound through my hts, all my connections are hdmi and both systems have arc, please help?

Is your Apple TV connected to the Sony or directly to your TV? If directly connected to the Sony HTS ARC shouldn't be needed and you should have audio. If that's the case check the Apple TV settings to be sure it isn't set for s/pdif output. If connected to the TV then the TV should be able to put a s/pdif signal on the HDMI ARC pin but perhaps there's no way to assign it to the HDMI input coming from the HTS? It may be going to the ARC pin on the Apple TV HDMI input which won't give you any sound. Normally ARC is intended to put the s/pdif signal from the TV's internal tuner on the HDMI cable from the HTS so the HTS can play TV sound without having to tun a separate Toslink cable from the TV s/pdif output to the HTS. One other thing: Early HDMI cables do not include the ARC wire so be sure you have ARC capable cables. Look in your TV documentation to see if there is a way to assign the ARC output to a different incoming HDMI input if the Apple TV is connected directly to the TV. If not you may need to resort to a Toslink optical cable from your TV to an optical input on your HTS. Or actually running that cable from Apple TV to the HTS would be better since it's possible it could carry surround sound. Most TV's optical outputs are limited to the 2 channel sound the TV can accept.

I cant get my blu-ray home theatre system to work when watching tv. Help please

I assume you mean for hearing TV-related audio. You don't mention any models here so generic advice is what you get.

Consider where the TV-related audio originates (Hint: it may not be the TV, but could be a Cable / SAT Box). If so, THAT is the source you need to draw audio from. Connect the highest form of whatever compatible audio output it has to your HTS and choose it when you want to watch TV. Connect the basic audio from the Box to the TV if you want to skip using the HTS for sound.

I can't get the sound to bypass the tv's speakers to my network blu-ray home theater system.

Are you hooking the TV to the Blu-Ray HTS with the HDMI cable¿ I have a client that had the HDMI cable from the HTS to the TV and needed to purchase an "Optical Cable" to get the sound from the TV to the HTS when they were using the cable box as the input. I hope this helps you going into the right direction.

Please help me!!

There are a few possibilities.
1)You can connect a red and white AV cable (or the red and white portion of a red, white and yellow cable) from the TV Audio OUTPUT to the "Audio In/TV" portion of the HTS (NOTE: Many TV's do not have an Audio OUTPUT).

2)You can connect a red and white AV cable (or the red and white portion of a red, white and yellow cable) from the Audio OUTPUT of your cable or satellite box to the "Audio In/TV" portion of the HTS.

Note: Using a red and white cable may not give you sound on all 5 speakers.

3)Get a digital audio or SPDIF cable and run it from the TV, Cable or Satellite Box's Digital Audio OUT to the "DIGITAL IN" of the HTS. This will give you the best sound quality. When using this (or any of the other) type of connection, press SURR until you get sound from all 5 speakers.
