Mysterious rubber strip

My printer hasn't been used in a while, it made a terrible noise so I removed the cartrages to investigate, found a torn piece of paper but more importantly discovered a rubber strip 9 1/2" x 1/2" I have no idea where it goes but without it in place, print jobs overlap onto one another. I feel this rubber strip is the key to solving my problem, but for the life of me I know not where it goes. Help!

SOURCE: Paper Jam 2

Most probably you took a paper sensor out of position when removing the first jams. In your unit, the paper sensors are connected to the main board or power supply board. If the equipment is under warranty, any authorized service center will gladly replace it for free.

SOURCE: Samsung ML 2510 printer won't feed paper

I have experienced the same problem . . . a little earlier this evening. I took all the inner components out, took apart the toner cartridge, I thought that the gearing was very hard to turn on it and on the inside of printer, paper feeding etc... and that is wear the loud noise is coming from. Out of desparation, I shook it to hear if anything internally was loose and there was and still is, I would not say its the best solution or by any means a permanent but you may be able to dislodge the debris from the gearing and be able to print. After it was dislodged from my printers gearing it has worked again. Though I believe it's temporary. I am looking for a guide or how-to on opening the printer casing to physically remove the debris. If you know of a guide let me know and I am sure it would help you too.

SOURCE: GRINDING NOISE or PAPER JAM

If you are not a technical person best thing to do is to show it to an expert. grinding noise means some part in the machine is running with the friction. and might brake something or scratch something. Find out persons who work on photocopiers in your area either samsung or Xerox. as this model comes with both the companies and Xerox people are generly better than samsung people.

SOURCE: PC Print Pending Message Won't Go Away

Have you tried to delete the print job from the computer? After that is done reset the printer by turning it off (30 sec) then on again. If that doesn't work take the paper out and start cleaning your printer with canned air, Q-tips and a cap full of water.

SOURCE: Printer paper feed wheel rubber band is broken

I had the exact sazme problem above and managed to successfully fix the probelm using an old mountain bike inner tube. I removed the cover to gain access to the paper feeder and removed it by first moving the white retaining clip on the right hand side towards the centre. Usign a flat headed screw driver I then freed this end from the black housing. Then, noting the orientation of the bar I then gently pulled it out of the gearing procket at the left hand side. This freed the bar from the printer. To get the required thickness of rubber I used four 2cm pieces cut from the inner tube and put them in place of the broken rubber. Re-assembled and worked first time and ever since. Hope this helps.

Printer paper jams continually

Hi,

if possible switch trays in the printer to avoid this before getting the other printer tray examined by a company like Geeksquad/best buy. You can also check whether the paper that you're attempting to print on is compatible with your printer.

Thank you.

Rubber strip

I had exactly the same problem and spent a week investigating, cleaning and fixing, but never found out where that strip came from. Unfortunately, when I went to put the drum back in, I ripped the plastic sheet membrane that sits in behind, wrecking the printer. So, if you find out where that strip goes, do be careful when you are putting things back.

I have a Brookstone dual node massager model # BST-007 SKU# 324640 E 201637. (2001) It is old but hasn't been used much and the other day it quit working. The Brookstone Store told me that they do...

Hi, I fixed mine with a zip tie. You pull off the grey rubber sleeve covering the 2 massage nodes (the part that moves.) There are 4 long screws holding on a plastic cover (the massage nodes.) Take them out. If it's not vibrating - check if the rubber grommet link between the motor and the note assembly has torn apart into 2 pieces.. thus severing the link between the motor and the nodes.. (it will make a rattling sound - but will not massage if this is the case..)

If this is the problem.. remove the two pieces of the torn rubber connector.. there are screw posts at each end - with rubber in the middle.. remove these posts. Thread a Zip Tie between inside the holes that the posts thread into. This will re-connect the motor to the node assembly. Test. If the Nodes are now massaging to your satisfaction - reassemble.

This fixed my unit - at least until a time that I can find the rubber post / grommet assembly..

The unit works fine. Good Luck!

When starting the printer it makes a terrible noise and doesn't start up

Open front front panel and just check there is no "PAPER JAM". If so carefully remove all including any torn pieces.

My lexmardk z645 saying its printing...when it begins...it makes an annoying sound and says out of paper....

Try to empty the printer of sheets of paper. Open the cover where the cartridges and remove the cartridges. Check for any loose strips inside the printer or maybe pieces of paper that got torn. If none found, close the cover. Unplug the printer from the power source, replug after 30 seconds. When the printer's ready, reload the cartridges. Load some paper, don't overload. Try to print again. If problem continues, you may be having a hardware problem. I suggest you contact Lexmark technical support to further investigate the problem.

We are getting a black stripe about 6-8 mm wide on the back of prints. I have run drum clean ups and it will clear for a couple of prints then it comes back. Is there a waste tank that can be emptied and...

there is probably a rubber spongelike piece, like the one another lady found who had this same problem. luckily for her it fell out with the next print job. take it to someone who can open the printer. ask them to remove or remount this rubber strip to solve the problem. more than likely its close to the ink source, since it is probably the rubber strip that wipes the ink off the nozzles?

Paper comes out torn and see loose piece of foam

OK
Remove the ink cartridges and print-head then remove the long skinny piece of foam and wash it and dry it - don't wring it out but press it between sheets of paper towel. You'll see lots of ink come out of it.
Using more paper towel, clean out all the ink you can find inside the printer - there will be lots. Look at the end where the print-head parks and you'll see 2 more sponge pieces. Don't remove them but use plenty of towel to absorb as much ink as you can from them.
Once you think everything is clean look for any loose bits of paper inside and remove them. Then, refit the now dry piece of foam. It's not as hard as it looks as the thing is shaped so that it will only fit in one way. Make sure it is properly seated then refit the print head and the carts and switch on.
I've had this happen twice in the last year on my ip5200 - particularly when using scrap paper.

A line appears when photocopying

Check the glass for a piece or dirt. When you use the doc feader it runs the paper over the scanner instead of the scanner running over the paper when you put it on the glass. There should be a strip of glass that the doc feader uses. A small piece of white out can make a line. If the line apears when you place a piece of paper on the glass then it is your photo drum and you will need to replace the tonor cartrage,
Hope this helps

Lexmark x7550 Printer, Scanner, Fax - Clicking Noise Question

top feeder for the scanner (on my x6570) had a loose piece of rubber stuck between the feed wheels. The rubber is part of the guiding mechanism that guides the paper to the feed wheels. Remove rubber strip and reattach it where it belongs.
