The value of resistor in the light box color coded

Without a circuit diagram or another actual unit to look at it is very difficult to identify burnt out resistors. Even harder is finding out why it burnt out because most of the time a resistor only burns out if overloaded due to other circuit component faults.

Burn Resistor 842 conot find the value

You can get the value of this resistor from the circuit diagram of your model TV.
Usually a burnt resistor is caused by some other component failing that is connected to the resistor.

This is one of six CKS3029s I bought five years ago for our retirement community. This one just stopped working, no light, no radio, nada. S/N 40628179PH. What to do?

My suggestion is to buy a new Clock Radio to replace the one that quit, they are cheap and unless you want to take it apart and service it yourself the cost to fix it would buy a new one.
If you do decide to take it apart then you want to look for burnt resistors on the electronic boards inside the unit. A resistor can be lots of sizes and can be many shapes but just look for a burn on or around all electrical components.

The component of the amplifier of my TV was burnout and I can't read the value of the component and I don't know the diagram. Can you pls. help me.

Many times when dealing with a burnt component, a resistor for example, you will be able to read the underside of it where the component is not burnt. What is the component, or model of the device?

Good luck!

I have 110 volt durapro 18volt dc battery charger, component R14 has burnt out beyond recognition and I was hoping someone could tell me exactly what it is so I can replace it. Thanks

Hello,
The component is a resistor. The problem is going to be determining the resistors value since it was burnt and you can not see the color code. You might try contacting the manufacturer and asking them the value of that specific resistor by including the number like you did in your post R14. If you can find a wiring diagram for the product, it should tell you the value of the resistor also.

I hope this helps you getting started in solving the issue.

If you would not mind, please rate my help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You

Burnt Resistor

There are LIKELY other bad components that caused this. Resistors USUALLY don't fail on their own.

How do I find the value of a resistor if it is burnt?

sometimes the component is listed on the circuit board in it's value where it is mounted.
can you read the color bands? if not than a schematic will list it.

Samsung HCL5515w

Usually if some parts on the board burnt on that model it can be caused by leaky tubes. Meaning the coolant from the crt's has dripped out. If burnt components are beneath any of the tubes, inspect very closely for liquid substance having leaked down from coolant chambers above. If this has happened you must seal leaky gaskets before going through any trouble of pcb repair. If burnt parts are not below tubes, most common cause is bad convergence ic's. At any rate, service info avail online or at samsung.com or 1800samsung. Hope this helps.
