ExtendNet Pocket Printer ESI-2841 - Link Light fails to come on.

It would have been more easier, if you would have mentioned the printer make and model number. To help you resolve the issue, please follow the instructions given below:

Most printers have a way of printing a test page. A printer test page allows you to determine if the printer is working. If you are not sure if your printer has this feature or how to perform it, refer to the printer manual or visit the printer manufacturer's website.

Check the IP Address of the 2833. I believe there is a gray button you can depress to print out a configuration sheet. If the wireless modem was also your router, you may have a different IP address range and will need to set the 2833 accordingly.

It doesn't support it directly, but it shouldn't prevent it from working. However it might be sending extraneous PJL commands between print jobs (example @PJL -12345X) which could mess up a label. ZPL is basically ASCII, the ExtendNet shouldn't prevent ASCII delivery.

Use a crossover cable to connect laptop directly. Does your print server have a static IP address and do you know what it is? If yes, set a static IP on your laptop that is in the same subnet and with the same mask, then you should be able to ping it. If the print server is obtaining an IP by DHCP, you will have to set up and run a DHCP server on the laptop (or connect it with a straight-thru cable to an existing router that offers this service).

Hi,

If all the three lights are on, then the issue is with the board (formatter board to be precise). Press the green button to check if there is a difference in the light pattern, the first light pattern is called primary light and after pressing the green button, the format changes to secondary light pattern, please find below the link to check the different light pattern for primary and secondary light pattern.
