I assume you've checked magenta toner cartridge level, and tried cleaning. If so, the next thing to do is try cleaning the scanner mirror. On these models the mirror nearest the magenta toner builds up dust the most quickly, hence why it is the first colour to fade on prints. Only use dry swabs (no solvents) and compressed clean air on the mirrors.
You can clean it using piece of paper (not printed). time for replacement - your image is very ghostly and you cant get better image after cleaning lasser/scanner assy :)
you have to clean the scanner mirror . open the front cover and remove all the cartridge. you can see a 4 no's of rectangle box in which inside you can a mirrors.clean all the four mirrors.
It is a massive pain but a solution that worked for me is to run a 'clean' after every card stock sheet. I know it's wicked awful but it actually worked and I had to run 100 times (one for each good color card stock) First put plain paper in tray 2 Next Hit left arrow until you get to 'system service' and press green check Next then go to 'clean' and press check Now it should print a clean image without ghosting
Can you replace it & how?
