Hello,

Here is my suggestion. Go to Nvidia's web site and download the drivers for your card.

Go to this page, www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us (make sure you choose the correct operating system from the pull down menu).

If you are using a driver installation utility try downloading and installing theses drivers manually.

Hope this helps.

Is that graphics card compatable with your system?
Just because it fits the slot, it may not provide enough power.
If it is ok with your system. Have you tried uninstalling the old drivers first.
Did you take your old graphics card to the shop to make sure you where buying the correct type?
Some new cards also need extra power from a power lead from your PSU

I have a nvidia Gforce 128 mb graphic card and it doesnot work

What is the exact model Nvidia GeForce card that you have and what brand is it?

Have you tried the card in another PC to test it? That would be the ideal way to confirm it's a card issue.

Have a new 23 inch samsung monitor that requires res 1920x1080

The problem is the cable connection to the video card.
When using the DVI output of the FX 5500, the maximum screen resolution that you can select is 1280 x 1024.

But, if you use the Analog (VGA) output, the card will support resolutions up to 2048 x 1536, which should be ok.
