I have a left over set of these plastic gears that I can send to you. The motor bracket on mine snapped. I took it apart to check. It looks unrepairable.

Runs but doesn't turn. Worm gear is not broken.

Something must be broken if the motor is turning and the planetary is not. It will be one of the following, we will start from the first point of contact with the armature
1) Worm gear broken (fuse gear) you say no teeth broken
2) Worm gear not broken but whole unbroken plastic part not gripping aluminium boss
3) Pin through worm gear broken or missing
4) Pin through centre (or bevel) gear broken or missing
5) Pin through small gear in planetary broken or missing
6) Pin through planetary hub centre shaft broken or missing

The most common ones in order of likelihood are, 1, 2, 3 and 6

I have a ge monogram trash compactor the ram is stuck in down position, how can we raise the ram?

Start your investigation by removing the bottom plate. There should be a belt or chain going around 3 gears. Mine has 2 metal and one plastic. The 2 metal ones are on the ends of the rods that the ram runs up and down on. The plastic one is on top of a big speed reduction gear that is turned by the motor gear. Don't pinch your fingers but see if you can turn the big gear by hand. All gears should turn. If not check each gear for broken teeth, or bad bearing & races under the 2 rod gears.
Be sure to check t
he threaded hard plastic nut that drives the screw that powers the scissors up and down. This is the part that usually fails.

I have a KP26M1XPm pro series 6 qt 575 watt stand mixer bought in Feb 2006. For some time it made a "knocking" sound as it mixed large heavy jobs. It was not a grinding sound but a knock as the...

I would be inclined to replace the broken/worn gear and only any other bearings/bushes that show wear, which is probably none. I would remove any contaminated grease (it usually remains close to the failure point) and add more grease if necessary. The gear is a fuse gear and designed weaker to fail if the machine is overloaded so the gear that runs on it is unlikely to be damaged.

Peg perego gator hpx gear slippage

Look carefully at each of the gears. Take them apart and I bet some of the teeth are sheared off. Order new gearboxes should fix the problem. This happened to us.

Broken plastic gear tooth - Fellowes P55-C Shredder

I suggest using Belzona (metal compound). Mix it with its hardner, paste it over the broken gear (dont worry if it gets over a couple of other gears. Let Belzona sink and dry (4-5hours). Get a Dremel drill with a fine blade on it and cut accurately where the teeth are meant to be. Voila, you have fixed your gear.
