You need a competent tech to look at the possibility that the power supply has failed - seems the most likely explanation

SOURCE: Alesis Masterlink ML 9600 won't power up.

After reviewing the repair and owners manuals. I have come to the conclusion that there is a short in the power supply board. Your drives should be fine. I don't know off hand how expensive it is to fix in your area. I would say approx $200

SOURCE: What would cause discs burned recently on my

Good day sir/ma'am hi, its a reality that not all CD players are alike, the burning of the CD which can't be read by other CD players can be caused by the following:

  1. quality of CDR and CDRW.
  2. lens compatibility.
  3. speed of writting and rewritting.
  4. scratches and marks on the CD.
  5. playback circuit that reads the CD.
  6. DIstance of the lens.
  7. manufacturers use different formats and methods of burning. and alot more.
For as long as the CD you burn on your masterlink can be played on itself, your fine. You can try burning the CD on the PC for more compatibility on the CD player.

Masterlink ML 9600 playback of a song previously successfully recorded on the HD, sounding like a drill going off.

The Masterlink ML 9600 is a professional digital audio recording and mastering system, so there are a few potential causes for this issue:
  1. Hard drive failure: If the hard drive on the ML 9600 is failing, it can cause issues with playback, including distorted or "drill-like" sounds.
  2. File corruption: If the file that you recorded and saved on the ML 9600's hard drive becomes corrupted, it can cause issues with playback.
  3. Firmware issue: If the firmware of the ML 9600 is not up to date, it could cause problems with the playback, especially when it comes to filing compatibility.
  4. Interference or electronic noise: If there is any kind of electronic noise or interference in the area, it could also cause playback issues, including distorted or "drill-like" sounds.
  5. Problem with the analog or digital output stages of the ML 9600.
It would be best to check the hard drive, ensure that the firmware is up to date, and verify that the file is not corrupted, and then check with the manufacturer for further assistance. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to have the unit serviced by a professional technician.

Recording levels are low

There's no record level adjustment on the Masterlink. Increase the output level of your mixer, or add a variable level preamplifier between the mixer and the Masterlink.

Or, use the level adjustment on the Masterlink once the recording has been done, and before you write it to CD, either with level control or DSP normalisation

What's your problem?hl-dt-st dvdrrw gsa-h21l player drags and plays slowly

If I were you, I would power down the machine, and reseat the cables. Which means you unplug and reinsert the cables. There should be a power cord, a data cable either SATA or ribbon depending on the drive, and possibly some drives also have a twisted pair that connects audio to the motherboard but this is mostly on older machines. As for the slowing down of playback, run ccleaner. Also make sure windows firewall is turned on, and also windows malicious software removal which is an antivirus.

Upon turning on our Masterlink, it read "LOAD OS".

if you are computer savy, you can disassemble the masterlink and test the cd drive in another computer. if it works, check the power connector to the cd drive. switch it with the hd connector to see if it fires up.

keep use posted.
