To set the tax rate, slide the "GT" switch to RATE. Enter the tax rate (i.e., 4.5 for 4 1/2 %). The display should show 4.5 %. Slide the "GT" switch to OFF.

Slide the on/off switch all the way to the left to the "Rate Set" position. Now enter the appropriate tax rate. When entered, slide the switch to the desired "On" or "Print" position and CE/C before your first calculation. You should now be all set to go.

SOURCE: I want to substract 15

To subtract 15% from something, what I do is take the price of the item (let's say it costs $100), then multiply it by 0.15 (which is equivalent to 15%). 100 x 0.15 gives you 15. Then, you'd take that number (15) and subtract it from the $100 to get $85, which is 15% off of $100.
