Precor Error 29, Excessive AC Input Current Probable Cause 1. The running belt and/or deck are badly worn.
2. Bad lower PCA.
3. Drive motor is shorted or de-magnetized causing a high power demand.
Corrective Action

1. Check the amp draw using a clamp on AC volt-amp meter during loaded and no load conditions and compare values to a similar treadmill that is known to have a good running belt and deck. Replace the belt and/or deck if necessary. Don't forget, some units have a double sided deck which means it may be flipped over rather than replaced if it has an unused side.
2. Test unit with a known good lower PCA. Replace lower PCA if necessary.
3. Test unit with a known good drive motor. Replace drive motor if necessary.

The micro switch is probably bad, the button (micro switch) needs to be replaced.

Hi There, sorry to hear of your troubles. Could you mention what brand and model of treadmill? If this is a Horizon treadmill with E1 error, like models T101 and others from the years 2011-2013, there is one thing you can try. Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor cover to get to the Motor Control Board, or MCB. Be certain the treadmill is unplugged from the wall! Now, look on the MCB on the right side there may be ONE small blue "block" with a tiny screwdriver slot in the center, this is called a potentiometer, and if there is Only One, and a Horizon MCB, you can turn this pot to the right, clockwise, gently until it stops, and then back it off just a hair, reassemble unit, and try treadmill. If this doesn't help, the MCB most likely needs servicing due to failing storage capacitors which get quite hot while in use and can degrade over a few years of service. Either your Motor or Motor Control Board(MCB) is faulty.
Try testing your Motor with a Drill Battery:
1. Disconnect the machine's power lead from the power socket, so that there is no power to the machine.
2. Open the Motor Hood.
3. Disconnect the Motor + and - leads from the Motor Control Board.
4. Connect + and - leads(normally Red and Black) to the Drill Battery.
The Motor should turn the Belt.
With the Motor leads disconnected from the MCB, you can connect the machine to the power, Press Start, and if this trips your Fuse Box you know its definitely the MCB.
Only carry out these tests if you are competent.
Lethal Voltages are present.

With belt movement check speed sensor. Without belt movement check MCB. If you neglected unit it could be belt and deck if its shutting down during a workout. I have also see a lot of on/ off switches getting old and causing LS errors due to low voltage to MCB

Error 29, Excessive AC Input Current, this mean that some elements inside of the treadmills is consuming more AC currente, like transformer, main motor.

L5 or LS is short for Low Speed error

It basically means that the speed sensor is not picking up a signal. Unfortunatley its a pretty vague error code and can be caused by several different problems.

First you have to determine wether or not you have belt movement. If you have a LS with belt movement you know that it is related to the speed sensor itself (or the MCB motor control board - the part of the MCB that handles speed sensing function). If you are getting an LS w/belt movement you have to check to see if you have power output from the MCB. If you have no power output, check fuses, if fuses are good you will need the MCB replaced.

Check to see that the treadmill does not draw more amp than stated in the owners manual. If you are, then the problem is in treadmill. If not try another circuit in the house (not just another receptacle).
