Projector turns off

When the power button is pushed the fan comes on, then the fan gets louder and the power button  flashes red and green for about a minute and the projector turns off.  The warning and lamp replacement lights never come on and the lamp never comes on.

Canon LV-5210 -- I turn it on, the light flashed green, then red for about a minute and then it shuts off. The lamp was replaced 6 months ago and has definitely not been overused. I read the response about pressing the reset button on the back of the projector. There is a spot that says reset and a hole below it, but no actual button. When I push something inside, it just hits a wall. Please help!

I have the exact same problem. There is a hole for reset but no button. Also, my lamp is only 6 months old and not overused. Does anybody know what the problem is with this?

I am still having this problem and unable to find a corrective solution. I even spoked to a Canon Tech who suggested replacing the bulb, at $629 a crack, I don't think so!! My bulb was only 6 months old and definitely NOT over used. DOES ANYBODY KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS????

Mpsoi said "check the filter". He should have said, "check the filters." I can't find my User manual, but I found the filters by examining the underside of the box, after the box had coolde for 45 minutes,of course.

You do the same. Turn it over on a newspaper or something, study the bottom. Notice two long lines of dark grey plastic running parallel to the long side of the box. One is about 2 inches long and is right near the lens. The other is about 4 inches long and runs near the back edge of the box. These grey lines have little doogerhitchies in their middles, so you can pull them out with yor fingernail. Pull them out. Clean them over the sink or outside. If you got 'em wet, let 'em dry real good before putting them back. Then put them back. It's all real easy once you find those two lines.

Fujitsu airon ASTA24LCC 2 flashes green and red then 5 red flashes any idea what it means

Had similar problem (ie. 2 green & red flashed followed by 5 red flashes - Fan blowing but not cooling ... I also noted that the outside unit fan wasn't going). Tried restarting several time after waiting only a minute or two after turning the mains power off but with no change. So turned the unit off at the mains power and then fired it up about 2hrs later and it was all working fine.

The fan should run for a few minutes after shut off to cool the lamp down.

If I read and understand correctly somewhere in the cycle you are getting 5 red blinks? that is an error code........

Either you or I can Google the model number of the set with 5 blinks.....or visit the Sony site to see what it means.....

Try this, connect green wire to bare wire. Connect both black (power) wires to black wire in the box. Connect the blue wire to the button for the lights, and the red wire with the strip to the button for the fan, and the common for the buttons to the white wire.

if you don't hear a high-pitched whir, the colorwheel needs replacing. if you do hear it, the lamp may need replacing. if the lamp is new, there is a power supply problem.

Either the new power supply you purchased is not functioning correctly. But, assuming it is now that you are getting some form of power to your PC, it is very likely the motherboard. Whatever fried your old power supply (or it could have just been the power supply itself) most likely fried your motherboard in the process. Probably not the CPU since the MB can't even post.
