Reset password administrator has left position..we donot know password for vm..how do we reset?

you may not be able to get to the VM. You may have to reset the system and start over if the PW is not avaialble. I cannot find a way to reset only the VM password and retain the VM. You may want to contact NEC directly in case they have a way that isnt in the manual. The manual seem to indicate you need to reset the entire system. First, access your voice mailbox (press VM button & enter your password)
When you hear you have ??? messages, Press 7.
You will be prompted for another password (the Admin default password is 2275)
Press 2 administer mailboxes
Press 1 to reset mailbox password then follow the instructions. It will tell you what the current password is to the mailbox you select and you have the option to keep it or change it.

You have to have your original administrator password for this. To change the administrator,

1. Open the Settings application.
2. Click the icon that says Accounts.
3. Make sure the icon that looks like a padlock (bottom left) is in the unlock position, if it is not: Click it and enter the Administrator username and password.
4. Go to the user you want to make administrator, and check the box that says Allow User to Administer This Computer
5. If you want to remove the previous administrator, you go to his user and uncheck that box.
6. Click the padlock to save.
7. Done!

It depends on what you mean by "can't access". The Panasonic voice mail system is accessed by dialing the VM access code, sometimes 500 or 165, from the phone you want to use. If you, for example, are extension 105, and it has a voice mail box, the lady will either tell you how many messages you have, or ask for a password. If that's how you can't access VM because you don't have a password, then the password can be reset from mailbox 999, the system administrator's mailbox.

There are two passwords YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO HAVE. If you don't know the passwords to 998 and 999, then you will have to get them from the original installer, or call your Panasonic dealer. Alternatively, if you have the VM maintenance console password, you can reset 998 and 999's password.

Sounds like your going to have to reset the administrator password to get in.To reset the administrator pasword enter feature 985 press 9, at the password prompt enter 73738767793 (resetsmpwsd) and press ok or #,press yes to reset password. password should be defaulted to 0000. then try Feature 983. if your system has 2 digit intercom #s your password is 120000 if your system has 3 digit intercom #s your password is 1020000.

To turn off voice mail please dial ##002#, this would do the trick.

it's really simple.
enter Feature 985 then 9 and spell out RESETSMPSWD (73738767793) and then YES. That's it. it should go back to the original one. if your extension are 3 digits should be 1020000 and so on.

password is: 1020000 (if you use 3 difit extensions)
OR
120000 (if you have 2 digit extensions)

If it's a Panasonic brand VM, you log in as administrator to mailbox 999. Option 6 1 3 allows you to reset a mailbox password.
