The most common thing for any mobile/cell phone.
Easy fix simply take an eraser & rub over the contact of the sim card then making sure not to touch the sim cards chip re-insert in to the phone & it should be problem solved. If the problem still exists insert in to another phone if possible to test the integrity of the sim card if the sim card works in another phone it could be the phone you are attempting to use it maybe faulty or the sim card is incompatible or the phone is not unlocked entirely, if it doesn't work in another phone the sim card has failed & a new sim card is required.
If your LG CU500 says Invalid Smart Chip,It's locked to some network...You need to Unlock it from service provider lock to use other CHIP(sim card)..find the current network, country it's locked now and get the unlock code from the site Simpleunlocking.com/lg-cu500/rs16wp9/ for LG CU500 and unlock it easily.
If the LG VU CU920 Says Invalid Sim means it locked to network. You need to Unlock it...You can get the Unlock code from here Simpleunlocking.com/lg-vu-cu920/rs16wp9/ and Unlock it from network lock...Find the Network ,Country it locked now..Then unlock it.After Unlock it use with any GSM Network Sim card.
The first thing to try is cleaning the contacts for the smart chip, on the phone and the chip itself. Use a little rubbing alcohol on cotton buds and be careful you don't bend the contacts in the phone. If that doesn't remedy the problem, get your service provider to give you a new chip. They should be willing to give you one for free. If that doesn't fix it, then it is probably a phone problem. You may go to your service provider or any nearest mobile phone repair shop to have it fixed. You may also have the phone replaced if your budget allows it.
Your cellphone will only work with Cingular/AT&T smartchip. What kind of smart chip are you trying to use with LG CU400. I believe no other smartchip will do.
