I have a LG Tromm with an LE error code. I just replaced the hall sensor

And am still getting the error. The machine will not drain and has quite a bit of water in it. I have tried unplugging it, running it on a no-spin cycle, etc. When I tried the no-spin cycle, it will fill, agitate, then when it starts to try to drain, the LE error comes on. The drum turns fine and there is no burnt smell. It just keeps giving the LE error.

Sorry folks, your answers do not apply to my Tromm 2277 washer. We previously had replaced the Hall Sensor and Stator Assembly. It would work for several washings, but the dreaded LE light would reappear. Then the control board burned out. We ordered a new one. After several more washings, the new control board burned out. We decided it was time to replace the machine. My Tromm was about 11 years old and I guess it just wasn't fixable. We replaced it with a LG Model WT1101CW top loader. This washer has a large 4.3 Stainless Steel Drum. It has no agitator and is a water miser. Runs quite and doesn't use much detergent. Has settings for large or small loads an will adjust water usage. Even plays a melody when the load is finished. Both Lowes and Home Depot were having a sale. I also got a $25.00 rebate from Georgia Power.

With a digital volt meter you need to measure the ohms value of the hall sensor. It has 4 wires. White red blue and gray. With the meter set at 20k ohms check hall sensor at the control panel. From white to blue you should read 9.5 K ohms. Same with white to red. If u get 9.5k ohms on both readings u have a bad main board. However to me I think your pump is bad. LG washers will not spin if they don't drain.

SOURCE: I need to replace my hall sensor - LG WM0264H

I fixed this myself. I found an on-line LG service manual and bought the hall sensor (about $30). It took all of a half an hour to repair this myself. I read that too much soap and fabric softener will make the circuits on the mother board heat up and short out the hall sensor (gunk and resistance on the wash drum). It is running like a top again. The local parts store said to periodically run bleach and water through the soap, and softener despenser to help keep it clean.

SOURCE: LG Tromm WM2075CW will not spin. I've done

Check first if repositioning the drain hose would help solve the problem. If your unit employs a drain valve, have it checked out. It has a solenoid or a small motor that opens and closes the part. Check as well the drain pump if it is running or no power is being supplied. Have the wire checked to see if there are loose connections.

SOURCE: LE error on LG 2277HW

Over-sudsing is the main cause of LE error codes. Using non-HE (high efficiency) detergents or too much detergent will cause stress on the motor. In addition, detergent residue can also cause leaking and odor. Follow these steps to resolved an LE error code caused by over-sudsing.

Step 1: Unplug the washer and allow the unit to sit for 30 minutes to give the suds time to dissolve.

Step 2: Plug the washer back in and press [Power] to turn on the washer.

Step 3: Do not choose a washing cycle. Press the [Spin Speed] key until "No Spin" is selected.

Step 4: Press [Start/Pause] to begin a drain only cycle.

Step 5: After the drain only cycle has completed, remove the clothing items from the machine. Turn the power back on and select [Rinse and Spin] and then press [Start/Pause]. This will remove excess soap suds and light residue from the drum. Repeat this step until no visible suds are in the drum of the washer.

Has a large load size been used with a gentle wash setting?
Gentle wash cycles such as Perm Press, Delicates, Hand Wash, and Wool/Silk should only be used for smaller loads. Because the cycles are more gentle while tumbling and spinning, too many items in the drum can register as an issue with the motor. In this instance reset the unit and run a test rinse and spin cycle.

Has the washer been overloaded?
Single bulky items or large loads can add extra weight to the drum and place stress on the motor. Remove some of the clothing and restart. If the issue is still present after a few items have been removed, unplug the washer for 30 minutes to allow the motor to cool and then restart the cycle.

"LG Tromm WM2277HW will not

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

LE error in your LG front load washer is displayed when either the motor is not working or the control board thinks that the motor is locked up. A Hall effect sensor is used in these washer which monitors the speed and direction of the motor and then forwards this information to the control board. Hope you understand by now that this LE error is displayed when their is an issue with the motor or when the hall effect sensor sends wrong signal to the control. Conclusion is you'll have to check both motor and hall sesor and replace the part# that is bad, usually I have seen the sensor going bad. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My Tromm Lg washer has a code that came up LE what does it mean

Hi

Error code LE indicates that either the motor is not turning or has locked up for some reason. It can also be due to Hall sensor which monitors direction and speed of the motor. If the sensor is faulty then also this error appears. Motor lock can be caused by several things from a loose connector, to a bad motor. To make sure it's not a locked motor, try turning the drum with your hand. And, if there is any resistance while turning the drum or the drum doesn't move freely then the motor is locked and you'll need to get it replaced. If the motor seems to be fine then you would need to replace the Hall Sensor. To replace the hall sensor, take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Hope this helps...

My LG washing machine has an error code of LE what does this mean

LE is 'lock error' and can mean a number of things. Some of the things to check are quite technical, and althought he problem may be a simple one you won't know this until you find it! It could be a broken wire, or a faulty hall sensor, for example....If your machine is otherwise in good condition, it's probably worth calling a tech.....Good luck....Nomess

On a LG Tromm washer, what does error code ''LE'' mean?

LE indicates the motor is locked. Check the 3 pin connector at the motor and check the 4 pin connector at the main control if they look good ( no corrosion and fit tight) replace the Hall Sensor. You can enter your model # at www.appliancehelponline.com for diagrams and illustrations.

LG Tromm washer is not working with getting LE message.

LE code means locked motor error. you need to check the Hall Sensor. unplug the power, remove the rear washer panel, locate the Hall sensor connector on the stator behind the rotor. you can test it with an OHM meter for failure. it may just be an unstable connection.

LE Tromm Washing Machine

i think you mean LG Tromm washing machine ... and the error code is LE ... thats a common failure with this machine .. often its cause by a defective " Hall effect sensor" this is used to detect the position of the wash basket ... if you are handy with tools then you can change it yourself at low cost ... but it does require removing a big bolt, the spin basket and several small bolts ... not difficult for a mechanic but probably more than aunt martha would want to tackle .. the URL listed below will give you good information on how to do that job ..

LG TROMM displays LE

LE stands for Load Error,
First try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and then retry a cycle. If you still get the LE error:

The Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in the US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or call LG at 800-243-0000
