SOURCE: Sony STR D590 Receiver

Hi there, it would appear that you have a overheating problem and the amp is shutting down. If you have added extra speakers, the impedance may be to low. Try a fan blowing into the amp. But first make sure you have not got incorrect speaker impedances

I tried to use 6ohm speakers on my str-590. They worked for a while then everything went blank. Had power light but nothing worked. I thought I blew the amp because the speakers worked in another amp. I put 8ohm speakers and it came back to life.

SOURCE: need fm wire antenna and am loop antenna for stereo receiver

Could be bought at Radio shack, not the original Sony model but an aftermarket that will do the chore.

SOURCE: I have a Jamo AVR-693

This problem is from the main board, if you try to remove the cover of your unit you will see the main board try to check the solder parts of the pcb. for sure you will see loosed solder or cold solder specially the filter capacitor and the power transistor. If you see this loosed solder try to resolder it but be sure to unplug your unit before opening the cover. before replacing the amp. lets make some basic trouble shooting who knows you might fix it. Feel free to send feed back best regards.

Don't run anything but a TURNTABLE through Phono. That's the only labeled input that's literal. Use any other Line Level input for the CD.

If you don't have anything connected to the Tape loop, use the Tape In connectors.

Distorted sound on Technics SL-1200/1210

You could be getting acoustic feedback from the speakers to the TT's. Lower the volume or somehow isolate them from room sounds and vibrations.

When I play CD only the right speaker is play but

first- is the tuner set to mono or stereo? if stereo, stop using the analog rca jacks and use an optical (toslink) cable to transfer your audio to your receiver. almost all cd players have this output and the same with the receiver. better still, if you are using a late model cd or bluray, and your receiver has hdmi inputs use those as they will transfer both audio and video with one cable.

Popping sound at random times out of my AV Reciever/Surround sound system when video is playing.

Clean and tighten all connections. Get a can of spray tuner and contact cleaner from Radio Shack to clean the volume and tone controls if you have access to the body of those controls. Some disassembly required. If this doesn't help, suspect a bad variable resistor in the amplifier circuit.

Since the receiver eventually works, the delay circuit is failing. This is a circuit that allows the power supply to settle down before kicking in the output relay. This prevents the "pop" that was sometimes heard on older units. This should be a simple and inexpensive repair probably requiring the replacement of a couple of small capacitors in that delay/protection circuit.

In all likelyhood, one or more output transistors have failed. Please confirm your model as STR-DE335 and I'll post the probable parts that need to be checked.

This is not a reset. Most likely one or more transistors have shorted and need to be replaced. Does the front display come on OK?
