This manual is probably close enough. Your AX seems like it is for a certain world market whereas the rest has WPT. A4 paper is UK and Europe, we are in North America.

The paper insertion is programmable. If byou don't have a manual go to NADIST.COM click on current models you will find a manual there.

I believe this is the same as a Nakajima AE710. Go to NADIST>COM, click on current models you will find a manual there.

Check to see if the ribbon is moving, then advance the ribbon manually about 6 inches, the ribbon may be old and they do go bad especially the exposed part. If the ribbon isn't advancing Code peroid, comma or slash will get you out of the overstrike mode.

I believe the code and comma, period or slash will get you in and out of this mode. I'm not sure which one is in or out.

Although there was not visible problem or damage - we found that replacing the print wheel resolved our problem.
