Question about Computers & Internet
i just bought a APC back-ups Es 500v(BE 500y-IN)
it does not get charged or work on the home generator.
i stay in a small town in india and state electricity is very scarce an infrequent so we depend mostly in home generatoras.
i asked the service guy and he said may be the generator frequency is too low.
is there any device to get the right frequency or is there any thing i can try
As a Ups manufacturer, I suggest the following: check the output frequency of the generator, it shout be 60hz +/- .5hz

Your generator is the problem, ups's usaully work from 90volts-125volts and the frequency needs to be steady, any lower or higher and it will not charge. it is a safety protocol with in the ups cpu.
I know of a voltage regulator for generators that would make the voltage consistant and even and that would cure your problem.
here is a example website: http://www.partsfortechs.com/asapcart/3001540a-replacement-voltage-regulator-for-onan-p-1.html
Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/stephen_171aeeebef53a898
