When setting unit up it picks up channels but says no signal why

if it is a crt TV unit there is every possibility that it is an analogue set and will not pick up digital signals with out a set top box

Just to be sure though, try the set in another room where one of the other TVs works okay. This will help you see if it's a cable or a TV signal issue. If you pick up all the channels okay it's likely that that other TV point has some bigger signal losses due to the cabling.

assuming that you can "pick up" channel 60..and that the signal is strong enuff...that is part one..make sure you have a good antenna connection and that the antenna is positioned for maximum pick up, then do the scan mode on the tv via the remote control. it will re scan the channels and if the signal from channel 60 is being picked up strong enough, it will program the channel into your set automatically.

Make sure you have the menu set on digital channels not cable. Set antenna to air to pickup digital hd channels.

take a paper clip and reset the reset button located in the battery compartment. Then, try each of the 3 channels until you get a reading in the outside temp field. Wait a good couple of minutes at each channel setting before determining the units are not pairing. Do this with the units side by side for signal acquisition, then once acquired, move the remote sensor outdoors. Hope this helps!

digital air signals are weak and fussy. They are easily lost by having trees or large buildings in the way too.
The best thing to do is install a long range roof top antenna and re program the set. Be sure to aim the antenna correctly. if you cannot use a roof top antenna you can try the indoor digital antennas,but less likely to work consistently

If this is the first time this is being set up, On the setting of the Samsung, you have the option on the channel for the channel schemes. See if it conforms to your area. It identifies which frequency for each channel. Try the different settings. If this has worked before check the connections or ports and try a another TV if see if it works. If this is via cable, if there is a box between the TV and the cable wire, have it checked if another TV worked on it.
