SOURCE: how do I attach the turntable belt to the Aiwa px e850

Lift the platter off the turntable. You can identify the motor spindle by using your fingers to turn the round shaft which rotates freely. Remove the rubber mat off the platter. Place the belt around the outside of the drum on the bottom of the platter. From the top of the platter, place your finger in one of the platter holes and tension the belt so it will not fall off or twist. Griping the platter trough the holes while keeping tension on the belt place the platter on the turntable aligning your finger with the belt to the motor spindle. Place the section of the belt on your finger over the motor spindle. Replace the rubber mat on the platter.

All you need to do is look at the cartridge which should have a number. Put that into Google and the stylus should appear.

My stylus for my aiwa px-e850 is loose. Can it be tightened?

I don't think so. If it's fitted correctly it should not come loose. It sounds like you need a new cartridge. Sadly they do break. But if you get the same type you will have a spare stylus.

Disregarding the narrative about the stylus damage, did you disconnect the TT from the electronics to work on it and then plug it back into something OTHER THAN PHONO? Only PHONO or somethign with a phono preamp supports a TT.

There is also a switch on it called "equalizer amp" that activates its own internal phono preamp. It could be in the OFF position by mistake if you're not using an outboard phono preamp.

As they say - RTFM...

On my Aiwa PX-E860 the automatic mechanism is failing - when i thry to manually place the stylus the platter does not turn - is there a way to by pass the automatic part and just have it manual?

Select the record speed.
Press the 2 down arrows or triangles( placed side by side) - This the same thing you press if you want the styles to lift during play
Place the stylus on the desired spot.
Press the same button again.
The stylus will drop to the desired spot & continue playing

If you have the manual look it up, else download one from this site after becoming a member(its free)

HOW DO I REPLACE NEEDLE

Hi there
You replace the needle on this turn table as a complete item. The plastic assembly that clips to the tone arm carries the needle. You can get one here(click, picture of stylus here also), or order one from your local HiFi shop. You need an AN11
They are not difficult to change, just grab between your finger and thumb and gentle pull it pull down from the front in a rotating motion, and then forwards to slide the step section out of the tone arm. Happy to answer any questions you may have about it.

Turntable with no stylus

Provided the replacement stylus is the correct one for the cartridge you have, it should just slide in from the front of the tone arm into the cartridge.
