Epson Stylus Photo R220: Magenta nozzle check pattern is almost zero, unlike all the other colours. I have replaced the cartridge with a new (Epson compatible) to no avail. Is there any more cleaning

The megenta cartridge will not pass nozzle check and multiple head cleaning attempts have no affect.

SOURCE: Epson Stylus C86 - prints faint magenta

You probably have a slowly worsening clog building up in the Magenta nozzles. It's also possible that your ink is reaching its end of life which, given the age of the C86 is entirely possible, especially if you are refilling or using a CIS sytem with your printer.

If it's a clog issue you can try soaking the parking pad with a mildly ammoniated cleaning solution (original Ammonia windex is good for this) or even distilled water. Leaving this with the printhead parked above it allows the solution to wick up into the nozzles and break down any clogs in the printhead.

If the problem is ink age though you will probably want to carry out the solution above AND replace your ink with a fresh solution. A CIS will need a thorough flush to remove any algae and cloggation residues before you use it again or you will just reintroduce the problem.

Hope that helps.

Martin

SOURCE: Stylus Photo 820 printing magenta lines

did you clean the communication ports , where the cartridges "talk" to the printer, the ports can get covered with paper dust and erronus signals can cause the printer to activate the magenta cartridge causing your problem. reomve the cartridges and Gently clean the comm ports with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol let dry then reinstall the ink cartridges.

My Espon R230 printer has problem with Light Magenta colour, i bought new cartridge but then also light magenta nozzle check is not clear, i think it is printer problem, please help me how to solve it

First you could do a printer test. The printer will print a small pattern with all colours making it possible to check if and if so, what nozzle are blocked. Sometimes the cleaning cycle will help, but sometimes there is just some dirt under the head. Please don't try to remove it with tools if there is something. Just use a thick piece or printing paper to solve that problem. Please check the manual for details. Perhaps the epson site can help you with that:

Hi, When printing photos, my photos have horizontal light coloured lines across them. When I print the nozzle check pattern all colours match the guide with the exception of the light magenta....

Epsons are notorious for this sort of problem, especially in used infrequently as ink residue dries on the print head; try using a cleaning cartridge, or swab around relevant print head with cotton bud and ethanol/isopropyl alcohol. Here are examples of cleaning carts, there are others http://www.internet-ink.co.uk/epson-cleaning-cartridges/ http://www.icompinkcartridges.co.uk/epson-r200-r300-r220-r320-r340-cleaning-kit.html

Problem with printing - streaks yellow and green not all colours are printing, not used for some time but new cartridges have been put in

Follow these steps to print a nozzle check:

  1. Turn off the Stylus CX.

  2. Load letter-size paper in the sheet feeder.

  3. Press the cp_button_48_er.gif ink and cp_button_1.gif On buttons together and hold them down for about 3 seconds.

The Stylus CX turns on and prints a test pattern, which includes anozzle check. Shown below are some examples of what the nozzle checkmay look like.

Nozzle check pattern with no gaps im_158_er.gif
Nozzle check pattern with gaps im_159_er.gif

If any of the colors is missing, perform a head cleaning routine. It appears that the magenta head is having some problem. Try printing again after performing a head cleaning task. If the problem continues you might need to replace the head.

Thank you.

Colours stopped printing one by one - Epson R220

try a damp tissue on the bottom of the cartridge as there could be some ink dried up on there preventing the flow. ear buds work well to.

Epsom R220 printing wrong colours

Print a nozzle check pattern then clean the heads until nozzle check pattern returns to normal. If you are using cheap **** compatible inks, throw them out and get some genuine stuff to run in the cleaning routine. Cheap **** compatible ink makes the situation worse when cleaning.

Epson Stylus R230 Light Magenta Not working

I would recommend cleaning the contacts (brass colored connections) with an eraser if might resolve the issue. It that does not resolve the issue it might be one of two other things. Either the printhead is cloged or the cable to the printerhead is damaged.
Good luck
