The megenta cartridge will not pass nozzle check and multiple head cleaning attempts have no affect.

You probably have a slowly worsening clog building up in the Magenta nozzles. It's also possible that your ink is reaching its end of life which, given the age of the C86 is entirely possible, especially if you are refilling or using a CIS sytem with your printer.
If it's a clog issue you can try soaking the parking pad with a mildly ammoniated cleaning solution (original Ammonia windex is good for this) or even distilled water. Leaving this with the printhead parked above it allows the solution to wick up into the nozzles and break down any clogs in the printhead.
If the problem is ink age though you will probably want to carry out the solution above AND replace your ink with a fresh solution. A CIS will need a thorough flush to remove any algae and cloggation residues before you use it again or you will just reintroduce the problem.
Hope that helps.

did you clean the communication ports , where the cartridges "talk" to the printer, the ports can get covered with paper dust and erronus signals can cause the printer to activate the magenta cartridge causing your problem. reomve the cartridges and Gently clean the comm ports with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol let dry then reinstall the ink cartridges.
