Error 08 / Disk Locked error

With help of Yamaha tech staff, I inserted a business card under disk "lid" in bottom left corner, slid card to right to release catch. With catch released, pushed disc in to insure in OK, closed lid cover, then slide card from lower right corner to left to re-catch. Read disc OK.

To install wii fit

"Unable to read the disc" / "Disc could not be read" / "Eject the Game Disc" Error Message.
If you are getting one of the above error messages:
  • Ensure that you are properly loading a Game Disc. insertdisccorrect.gif
    • If your console is placed vertically, the disc label will face to the right.
    • If your console is placed horizontally, the disc label will face upwards

  • If you know you are inserting the Game Disc correctly, but are still have the same problem with only one game (or if you only have one game), try cleaning the Game Disc by following the disc cleaning procedures

  • If after reading the above information you are still unable to play a game disc, please call 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.

JBL Error 1

Error one is unique to the disc being inserted into the player.
According to the service manual, this is the exact statement:

Err 1 appears on the display:
This indicates that the disc is dirty, scratched, damaged, incorrect (as in a "burnt" disc), or has been inserted upside down. Clean the disc or insert it correctly.

Toyota CD players are very sesnitive, and the svc manual specifically mentions not to use anything other than "store-bought" CDs.

PS2 consule says read disc error for every game inserted

I helped a friend fix his PS2 with these symptoms using this webpage:

This is not to say yours has the same problems, but it's probably worth a try.

Good luck.
