Remove air filter cover. Remove air filter. Remove the 3 10mm screws mounting the air filter housing assembly and carb to motor. You will need new gaskets to install the new carb. Gaskets: 16221-883-800 2ea., 16212-ZL8-000, 16228-ZL8-000, and the gasket for the back of the air cleaner mount 17228-ZMO-000. You can buy the carb for these on line for about $14, 16100-Z0L-023. Most take a NGK PLUG BPR6ES.

SOURCE: Change Oil

All lawn mower engines have a drain plug for draining the oil. Look for a square nut on the side of the engine

From what you describe it sounds like the line may be tangled, remove the rewind housing in order to inspect the line up close.

SOURCE: lawn mower husqvarna problem

I have an XT721F self-propelled, auto choke Husqvarna mower. The first time I used it this season it ran for a short time and then just quit on me. I have since emptied out all of the gas and have replaced it with high octane 91, and have also added Seafoam to clean out any other issues. I mowed two weeks ago with no problems and went to mow again today and only made it through 2/3 of my back yard and the mower stalled out on me again. What's going on?

Change oil

Most older walk behind mowers have a plug on the underside of the deck that a 3/8 ratchet will fit in. the newer ones have you tip the mower to drain out the fill/dipstick tube. Capacity is around a 1/2qt (16oz) for most mowers. Please ask if you have any other questions.

How to change the oil in my MTD 6.5h Honda yardman

Many mower engines no longer have a drain plug, or the plug is covered by the deck or other components, the best way is to suck the oil out via the oil filler, there are plenty of inexpensive vacume pumps availble that makes the job easy, check out the dealers or e bay.

Where is the carborator

Hello. The carburetor should be directly behind the air filter. I believe the unit you have is a GCV160 engine. Here is the link to the manual showing a diagram (see pg 9).

Should you have a different engine, here is the link showing how to identify it's type, then proceed to download that one instead.

Hope this helped. If so, please rate this a four-thumbs up. Thank You.

How difficult is it to replace a carburetor for YardMan by MTD push mower?

Depends on what engine. IF it is Briggs and Stratton you remove the aircleaner cover and air cleaner element. Behind that are three little 5/16 bolts, remove those and the aircleaner mount comes off.Behind that are 2 3/8 bolts that bolt to carb to a brackett that holds it to the engine. Remove the fuel line by removing the clamps. Becareful with the throttle linkage. Some models of Briggs had a plastic throttle and it breaks easy,The wire linkage has a Z bend ,so hold the wire while moving the carb off the Z. Why would you replace the carb. Its simple to rebuilt. You local Yard Equipment dealer would probabley do it for $20 bucks instead of paying 60 or more for a new one. Its probably only full of dirt or water and the needle and seat need changed.
Hope this helps.
