Question about Pioneer AVIC-D3 Car DVD Player

Avic d3 is locked up on what is your pets name?

My mechanic disconnected battery. I had to reload maps CD. Now it is stuck on what is your pets name? I bought my 2007 Nissan 2 months ago. My stereo, navigation system are locked up. Resetting the system with a pin does not help.

the d3 will play dvds, and you can buy a cd changer for it seperately.

So far you cannot. The only way for it to work is to burn the map file onto a DVD DL disk. But the Avic D3 cannot read those disks. Currently Im trying to burn the map file along with music files to see if it an all work at once (cutting out the need to switch disks). So far, no dice. Ill post up the process once I get it to work

There is an update on ebay and other sites for about $250. Also try the pioneer web site. If this is new construction, it probably will not be available for atleast another year.

How do you unlock the disk

I had the same problem when purchasing mine open box from CircuitCity. But this is how you do it. Pass it on.

While the unit is turned on, press and hold "MENU" and "Back (Track Left)" buttons simultaneously. Next, push and release reset button. Continue to hold "MENU" and "Back (track left)" until the unit reboots.

Mechanism error

Try resetting the unit while holding down the eject button, or be sure to press the eject button several times during the boot up sequence. It may just be stuck in the unit and it may have to be serviced.

Do you think I'm overlooking something? I just finished connecting the Pioneer Car DVD player, when completed, I reconnected all A/C connectors, hazard connections, and misc. connections. When I powered the car, I noticed my A/C is no longer powering on. I disconnected the wires again, and reconnected them again and still its not working.
