Without knowing the make and model it is difficult to answer your question accurately. In general you would change either the source or input option. Usually the antenna option is called TV.
You have to enter its service mode to rectify this problem. Just contact any expereinced tech, as this is a very risky and skilled work. The tech know, what to do.
I think this calls for a phone call to LG customer service to see what can be done and to inquire if this is known issue in this model--all these companies keep extensive records or model versus problems.
Tuner is only analog. As for the Video 1 input you need to go into the menu and change it to the digital port you want to use (optical, coaxial or HDMI) you can set only one input to each digital input port.
For me it sounds like the TV treats the incomming signal as a SVHS signal. I have had the same problem with a SEGA dreamcast back in the days. In my case it was a quite simple setting in one of the TV menus.
Try different video inputs. (and SCART adapters) This is also is a important step. Some older TV's doesn't have SVHS support at some of the SCART inputs, and in your case that will be a good thing. But as you said, you maybe already have tried this.
Don't know if this was any help for you but i wish you good luck! (Because PS2 is still really fun playing)
Make sure to switch the TV's tuner mode to Video or Aux mode.
You can change the mode using the original TV remote or directly from the TV's control panel.
Again, tuner mode picks up all live broadcast airwaves and Video or Auxillary mode displays what is inputed into the TV via second device..
