Great question, im ane ECU spirt. )EFI.
what country, nobody ever says, that but gee, the OBD varies buy
COUNTRY!
Ill pretend USA. /Canada.

In the USA the car has OBD2. and you need a scan tool that works
on 2002 cars.
what engine, some engines have different ECU. radical differ..
they had like 3 engines here, other countries 9.

the scan tools connects to the 16pin, OBD2 connector at dash.
i the car is Can-bus. it needs a can-bus tool, all new tools work on canbus but old ones never do. (i have them back to 1995 and know this)
NON comms and tool is ok, not wrong tool . diagnosis.

  1. Pin 16 not at 12vdc, (blown fuse)
  2. ECU dead, 99% of time blown fuse to EFI. test the fuses to all EFI parts. alldata.com wiring shows that.
  3. bad wiring to the DCL connector (rare) or from there to ECU
  4. yes, some crappy tools have no ground on both pin 4 and 5, buy a tool that has 2 pins there. OR it will fail on some cars. seen many POS ELM327 tools that do this horror, get a tool called, INNOVA 3160 and stop guessing, this tool works on all cars.
  5. barrow, rent , or buy or ask any sharp mech top scan car , his tool works.
  6. Fuses that look ok can IN FACT be bad, we never assume they ar good we test them. using either method, OHMS or 12vdc on both sides, is better. see? only the voltage matters, all else punts.
  7. The 3.3l communicates on pin 1 and 2..
pin 2 is PCM/ECU. VPW signalling.
and is not can-bus, yet.
simular to this.

there you go, you tool must have VPW support on pin 2.

SOURCE: Dead OBD connector on 2000 Isuzu Rodeo

The only reason I have ever seen for a dead OBDII or DCL while the car still runs is that the ECM has failed and for some reason just marginally functioning enough to appear normal. This is more common than one would think.

I would start by getting even a generic OBDII reader to confirm your work, then pull the battery connections and unplug the ECM from the harness and make sure visually that the conector has no obvious issues then reassemble and retest.

OBD II system not communicating with state inspection machine or scan tool! 2002 kia Sedona

Turn you ignition switch to the on position ,does the CK ENG Lite appear, if yes this is a good indication. Your DLC (diagnostic link connector) should have battery voltage at pin 16 and ground at 4 and 5,If you can verify that your vehicle has this working order then its there problem and not yours

Model 2002 the horn doesent work

3 possible problems, Horn is bad, fuse is out, wires fell off.

Locate horn in car, and check the wires leading to it. If they are attached, then check the fuse box. The fuses are labeled under the lid. Check to see if the fuse is bad. Remember fuses are themselves not bad, so if another fuse blows, there is a problem with the wiring or the horn is bad.

good luck and don't forget to vote!!!

Horn on 99 rodeo doesnt work, when i press the horn I hear a clicking noise in glove box area

clicking is probably a good sign
it should be telling us that the switch, fuse and wires are okay

first guess would be a bad horn

however, easiest diagnoses will be to swap relays with a know good and retest

finally, at least jump a live power wire to the horn to see if they work...still could be a ground issue at the horn

Horn wont work.i check the fuse in the door and

Maybe horn became unplugged. Put 12 v power to horn make sure horn works. Put test light on terminal on horn have someone press the horn button, if light comes on and horn does not blow you may need new horn. if light does not come on you may have bad contact at horn button, blown fuse, broken wire, bad horn relay or possibly just a bad ground.

My 1995 Isuzu Rodeo new horn won't work

there are 2 horns that have different frequencies so that you get a louder harmonious noise when you activate the horn
now you have blown the fuse or the relay is no longer working
make sure that you have fitted the ground wire correctly
